Most accurate way to get temp would be to fill up a glass and then have hot junction in the water that's not being aerated. I bet it was hotter than you read

most if not all thermostatic mixing valves for "domestic/potable water" have a locking handle. to adjust you loosen the handle screw on the end a bunch of turns and slide the handle out off the locking teeth to turn it, once set, push it back in and tighten the screw. you usually have to tweak it a tiny amount to get the teeth locked back in. it's a "safety" feature on them, so every random person doesn't go adjusting it and injure themselves/others. the radiant models don't lock that I recall, but they may now.

On that meter you dont need to use the thermocouple to check the temp, you can use the clamp around the wate flow.😀

Mikey that make of mixing valve you took out because of a striped knob, the way that one works is you have to remove the screw to disengage the locking mechanism to adjust the temp once you get the temp set the screw get reinstalled to keep the idiots from messing with it. apparently some idiot tried to adjust it without knowing how to and stripped the knob. LOL

Our showers have the mixing valves, so they don't come out that hot, but that's what we get at the faucets if you don't mix in some cold. No mixing valve, and I think the intent was that we'd set the 40gallon tank to 120 or something. Runs out too fast that way, probably better setups that could be...

Well my combiboiler is also giving 60 degrees celsius hot water, but who puts his mix crane full open in warm or thermostatic crane (in bath/shower) on max temperature? asking for a friend.

All the ones I have worked with fail safe. I have never seen one fail hot. All are designed to fail cold. Quite the extreme failure.

Mikey Pipes! hey i'm getting the exact same problem but my hot water comes from the steam boiler instead of a water heater.... and it's never constant, i have to adjust the knob like 4 times when i take a shower cause the water gets too hot then too cold then too hot... what's my fix? and thanks for all the videos by the way, been learning a lot

i would think if you have a boiler then you must have a storage tank with a circulator if that is so i would think you would get what ever temp is in the storage tank not sure your entire setup maybe you get it straight from the boiler loop and have no storage tank maybe that is why it goes up and down
