Scale Camel Trophy Adventure

This is a scale Camel Trophy video I shot using a custom made Defender 110.

This is awesome! I'm fortunate enough to have driven one of the original 110 Defender Camels and been in it off-roading, it was an ex-training vehicle for the UK team. They're great trucks and you're build is fantastic detail! The soundtrack brought back memories of watching Camel videos as a kid. This was brilliantly edited together and totally absorbing. Well done! Such a shame the competition is no more, G4 was never the same in terms of off-road endurance it seemed.

@cydstrange I cut up a D90 hardbody, added the rear doors, moded the chassis and rear driveshaft. I hand built the roof rack and front bumper and bull bar. I also moded the interior, and built the rear seat..

Love it! It's kind of a bummer that the tires worked so well. Would have been great to see plenty of wheelspin and mud flinging, like the real Camel Trophy. Great video, though. First class truck, too.

@MegaReyes14 When I was filming this movie, there was a drought, so there was not much mud. I was lucky to find the one deep mud hole that you see in the movie.

@Le0Heart I used velcro to hold the body on. Wheelbase is 12.75" or 325mm. I custom made the body, it started as a two door Defender hardbody I bought on ebay. There is a link to the build in the disscription.

I used RC4WD Mud Thrasher tires, that are pretty narrow, so they don't stick out past the fenders.
