I use Createx regular formula and the Wicked Colors and they're very good, especially for adhesion (tape test) and hardness. For scuffing just use a scotch green scouring pad. You don't have to worry about sand marks, and it's cheaper. I know it's a personal preference, but I've tried the 15 minute setup method and spraying right after the 4012 and the 4030 and to me there is no difference. Maybe because I always dry with an airbrush after. I dunno. I really love the 4030 acrylic polyurethane. I use it with all my acrylic paints. Remember Createx dries semi gloss. From watching numerous videos I believe you can wet sand almost right after it air dries. Good stuff Thanks for another great video.

@DansModelBench3 жыл бұрын
You can get a nice flat finish by dusting a coat of polyurethane based matt clear, like the ones from Creative, Mission Models, AK-Interactive etc. Typically you build them up with very light dusting coats (opposite to glosses), until you have matted the subject down to the level you want. You thin them with their own thinner/reducer brand. The thinning ratios vary quite a bit, so best to lookup the companies website to get some ideas. Probably the easiest to start with is the Mission Models which is two or three drops of their thinner to 10 drops of clear. Once you are more experienced you can experiment with some of the other countless brands out there. Dan

@@barbatosrex9473 Primers and surfacers are 2 different animals. A primer is used to etch or prep bare metal or previous coats of paint to accept a coat of paint. A surfacer is a primer used to fill imperfections and has more solids. There are also sealers for use when there is a chance of reaction between the new coat and the old paint. I have question. Have you tested the Revell Aqua Paints. I tried and I failed. Used there Aqua thinner but I am not sure if the ratio is 4:1 or 2:1. 2;1 was to runny and the 4:1 was to thick to where the tips got clogged up. Can you help?
@barbatosrex94733 жыл бұрын
I ordered a bunch of them for testing. I also ordered they're enamels. I'll figure it out and do a video for sure. On a side note have you checked out my video on how to airbrush acrylics perfect every time? That video might help too

You need to get the updated sheet, maybe do an added video on it, at least if you want your info up to date.. The 4012 is now not only not the standard reducer but not even produced any longer, though there is spill over stock of it still on the shelves of suppliers.. In some instances it didn't play well with the 4030 product. The standard reducer now is 4011. Also, now 4050 can be used in place of 4030, though so far both are produced. 4050 can also be used as a UV protective clear coat, as well as intercoat. So Createx has changed up a bit since you created this video.

If your painting a model you’ve already primed do you still need the 4030 since you aren’t spraying directly on the plastic or is that still required?

Well it also helps with flow and makes it more Durable

I know this is late, but my createx color paints both detail yellow and pearl yellow give off a yellow-green look rather than just yellow. Is there anyway to fix that?
