Fallout - Wasteland Warfare | Red Rocket station Diorama build

This is the longest time i spent working on diorama. Researching, downloading, supporting, printing, building, painting and even more time spent on editing that video.. Glad it's done now, happy to finally build a Fallout diorama!
Officially the scale of Fallout: wasteland warfare tabletop game is 32mm so i think it's 1/56 or 57. I scaled it down to 30% so i think its 1/100-ish but please correct me if im wrong.

I had exactly the same thought - back then we did our best with plasticard and foam core and the few military/train set accessories we could get, but nothing really even close to this level of detail. It makes me sad I don't have a group to play this kind of stuff anymore, but my wallet is definitely thankful.

The diorama looks awesome, I do have a question. How is the asphalt paint adhering to the insulation foam? Is it good? My hobby group always finds coating the foam with Mod Podge helps the paint to stick better.

This is acrylic so i think it soaks in a little bit and i didnt had any problems. its not going off or anything.

Amazing work sir! I have a real love of Red Rocket, it's one of my favorite settlements to build at. I have spent so many hours there it feels very familiar. You did a great job of capturing the atmosphere. I'd love to recreate my version of the settlement in miniature one day. I think Modiphius are doing a great job with the game too. I wish I could afford to buy more sets.

I love seeing different communities' approaches to model-making (scale vehicles, wargaming, diorama, etc). They all have their own quirky techniques for effects that are better than the trends in the other communities. It's really fun to come across those different techniques and tools. I wish I had your talent. My only nitpick, and it is stupidly tiny, is the fact the C is backwards on the one where it is hanging down. It should be flipped over to the other side. But damn I wish I had your mad skills to do this. I just hope I can create basic maps like this in a map creator for Fantasy Grounds.

Technical question: do you use black as a primer to make the 3D detailing stand out better than the usual gray? Is that contrast more for your ability to see and discern what you're going to do or does it make an end result with more visual depth?

Yes black primer helps create a depth. Also in places where the paint is harder to reach like corners for example is better to have dark shadow rather than light spots because that would look unrealistic. I cheated a little bit and used a lot of brush painting when i could actually get better resaults with an airbrush but i am also trying to save some time in some places.

As i mentioned on the video, you can find a link to modiphius website in description. They released a fallout tabletop game with lots of figures and objects just like Warhammer for example. But they also provide with a lot of Fallout themed objects to buy as STL files for yourself to print if you have a 3d printer. Some of these files are pretty big so its much cheaper when you have your own 3d printer. I suggest you watch my previous video on that subjects :)

VERY impressive! I would be embarrassed to tell you how many hours I have [;ayed the various Fallout games; each and every one. I used to wargame with 15mm military minis, also Warhammer, 40k, D&D, Chainmail, so I did some rudimentary work on terrain and dioramas. Also, I briefly worked for a man who did high quality miniature work for museums, etc. All that being said, your work blows me away! You should be very proud! ALSO: the fact that you never have ANY paint on your hands is another great achievement!

Yes. These are actually made by guys who made Fallout wasteland warfare and these are designed for FWW. I just shrinked them for my siorama. The whole building is massive in original scale for 32mm and for printing walls, roof etci would use FDM printer.
