Great info, I do love using the “H” for painting car bodies, I also use a dual action for my HO Scale stuff. Thank You for the inspiration and knowledge you share, love your style and attitude.

Hey Donn ordered me a paasche h model off of Amazon for 65 bucks I’m super stoked about getting back to building. Thanks for being my inspiration in this hobby. God bless my friend

The Paasche H is the epitomy of dollar to performance, you just can't beat it and while designed for heavier work the needle adjustments can actually produce a thin enough line to do most any job. I bought a badger 105 patriot for my dual action needs and my Iwata now sits in a drawer about ready for Ebay.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you... I've been using a cheap double action airbrush for 8 years... wondering if my mistakes were me or the air brush. your comment about sticking with it for the duration hit home... I'm a firm believer that there is no "right way" you choose your path and perfect your method... that said... the foundation has to be solid... mine was not.... I bought a Paasche H airbrush and instantly felt at home... thank you. This works so well for me & makes all the difference.

I used to watch Big John run at Lions Drag Strip all the time! I currently own the Polar Lights 68 Cuda Funny Car, that I haven't started. I started with the Iwata HP Eclipse and am very satisfied.

Hello I’m a fan. You look like a decent man to get some info on sanding, grits, (prep for painting). My trouble is painting and having scratch marks on my model. A video would be great ! Thanks man.

Thanks for the videos! Have you ever flat-coated the non-chrome parts of an engine after painting it? I think it looks more realistic.

I'd add to that you need a decent compressor. I started out with a pretty decent airbrush but most of the time I just couldn't get good results. I can paint fine with spray cans but every time I picked up a brush there was a different issue. I bought two more, one cheap and got along okay with it. Then someone suggested I buy another compressor, that solved all my problems. The Revell starter compressor I was using just didn't have the power to push enough paint through it. Having the proper consistency of paint and enough air behind it means you can do a good job with virtually any airbrush.

If you really want a double action airbrush the Badger 105 is also a good choice. The Iwata HP-CS is also pretty highly recommended, but I find it isn't so hot with cars - there's just a lot of coverage involved with painting a mint body and the needle width in the HP-CS isn't big enough. Need to have a .4mm or larger needle IMO. All three heads on the Paasche H are larger than .4mm. Badger 105 comes in at .5mm, Iwata comes in at .35mm...I've been using a Harder & Steenbeck Evo with the .4mm needle, but you don't need to spend that kind of money on an airbrush.

I got 4 airbrushes, a cheap harbor freight deluxe ab, that is strictly my primer it works great at just that priming. My neo is my clear coat ab, strictly just that My eclipse is my workhorse And my detail ab is my GSI 771, with its .18 custom needle, I get amazing results when she's called upon, I can do Amazing freehand camo work with her. I mainly build 1/35 armor, but I'm thinking these car kits are pretty sweet!

I agree about the cheap airbrush being a bad idea. I did that myself and found you can't get parts. They don't disassemble as easily and therefore can be hard to clean. I got the H and have been very happy with it.

Will it matter if its already been painted?
@ScaleModelTechniques4 жыл бұрын
If it was properly prepped , it shouldn't . Enamel and lacquer paint should hold up to the process ....
