Scam Alert ! Be Careful in Kathmandu Nepal | scam in Nepal Thamal nightlife scam khatmandu

The disco bars in Katmandu are robbing tourists. When you are coming to kathmandu please make sure that you ignore the kids roaming out side good hotels and asking if you want to go in to bars.
Two tourists were robed they filed a complaint. They said that they have been asked for INR 12000 for two beers and snacks in that bar. The bar looks crowed but all people are working their.
Yes there were some cases that happened and it was in "Dance bars" not in disco and most of the Indian tourists go to Dance bars in Nepal not seen many of them in Discos.
Once you have too much of drinks with girls from bars and "asking them to have sip which they usually don't" your bills will not be a normal and you should be very careful. So just a suggestion to people so that their bills won't be over listed.
Its a old scam. I am not sure about the disco but it happens for sure in dance bars.
It happened with us in phuket where a stranger took us to a dance bar and as soon as we seated and ordered our drinks some semi- nude girls came and sat along us and ordered drinks for them selves and eventually we had to pay their bill because they were sitting on our table.
we asked about this indecent from a guy in hotel staff and he said its pretty normal here and that is how club & touts earn
Timings: Casino Pride Nepal is open on all days of the week, for 24 hours a day. These five casinos are the currently operational ones in Kathmandu. There were a few others like Casino Everest, Casino Venus and Casino Anna before the government's closure of all casinos in Nepal.
Bribes and corruption
There are a number of checkpoints run by the police in Kathmandu and throughout Nepal. Sometimes, attempts are made close to these border posts to extort money from foreigners. Another increasing problem are the attempts to set up partnerships with foreign visitors. These typically involve financial assistance exporting goods or establishing shipping routes and promise large returns which never materialize.
Travelers should be vigilant and avoid offering to carry jewelry to a business contact overseas. This has resulted in some getting heavy fines at the border. The local police should be informed about requests to carry items, however, the reality is that the authorities are under-resourced and many crimes go unresolved.
Drugs and drug smuggling is taken very seriously with heavy fines and custodial sentences if caught. Even small amounts of marijuana can result in a five-year jail sentence. Never get involved in drugs in Nepal.
It is also important to thoroughly research any voluntary or charitable organization that you are considering, as several organizations have taken money from well-meaning volunteers. The Social Service Council of Nepal has a list of bona fide organizations.
Common scams
Credit card scams: Always keep your credit card with you and do not let it out of your sight when making purchases. Travelers have returned to find thousands of dollars of internet porn charges on their cards after it had been skimmed
Taxi scams: When taking a taxi, ask the driver to use the meter. Many refuse and then try and charge exorbitant rates, so agree the fare before you get into the cab
Milk for baby scam: Another common scam in Nepal is that a child approaches tourists and asks them to buy some milk for a baby. When the tourist goes to the shop, they are charged an inflated sum of money and the milk is then returned by the scammer to the shop where both share in the profits. One way of breaking the scam is to open the bottle for the child, which will then benefit the children
Mad Honey scam: A new scam has emerged where travelers are told they are being sold "Hallucinogenic honey", when in fact the dodgy vendor is selling the visitor a normal pot of honey. If you really want to try this honey, befriend a trustworthy local who can find a real-deal sample, otherwise you'll be charged a high price for something that doesn't actually give you the hallucination you're looking for. The substance should be treated as a drug and taken seriously
Nightlife scams: There are some dance bars in Nepal, particularly in Kathmandu, where tourists are charged large amounts for drinks and harassed

Guys please do not go to DANCE bar ..please do not go Dance far because you see the beautiful girls and order them drinks and bill can be too expensive just for having conversations with ladies and watching dance of girls...iyou can be scammed....But the live music restaurant,clubhouse,lounge and family restaurant are genuine and loyal to serve all the tourists around the world...Guys in my opinion,Casinos isn’t good place you can loose the money,have addiction of playing cards,roulette and make your vacation worst.But if you want to have free meal,drinks,cigarettes,breakfast,lunch dinner for free of cost than its okay.....Sorry dude you were one of the victim on Dance restaurant I too was as being the resident of Kathmandu....Welcome to Beautiful Kathmandu
