@@michaeljohnston980 I am geting old and I get targetted by scammers a lot, I take them away from their script and some calls last seconds others quite a while, the best thing I find is to avoid answering their questions or giving entirely the wrong answer, after all it is so easy to misunderstand what they say, I aslo ask them questions like where are you and then prove that I know ore about London, Zurich or wherever they claim to be, while on the phone and distracting them with questions I use Google Earth or Google maps to look up places close to where they claim to be. One said something barely intelligable and I said I didn't hear a word of that, he then shouted as loud as he could into the phone so I shouted back, I am not bloody deaf, you idiot, I just can't understand what you are saying then hung up.

It's actually easy to disable their pc. Just compress the "windows" folder in their hard drive. They'll have to fully reinstall their OS to be able to do anything more than turn the machine on. Edit: I only know this because I once accidentally did it to myself as a teenager while trying to get more drive space with minimal file deletion. I kept the old copy of windows, so I was able to get all my personal files back.

Yeah and stop trying to make it so much funnier than it really is; there are thousands of laptops still crunching out scams and the bosses are still intact. Offer to sell back the files for reimbursement to the scammed; you have the files and can confirm when they have been made whole.......give them the oldest first however. There's a lot more you could do than just sit there and giggle for minutes on end.

Windows 7 gives me the freedom to turn off the antivirus for example, 10 doesn't, always turning it on without asking me, and I don't like that.
