Had you ever taken apart one of your SDX scan n cuts to see if there are components that can be user upgraded? It would be super cool if the 125 could have upgrades to the scanner so owners like myself could scan 12x24 inches. Other upgrades worth exploring are higher capacity memory modules. One MegaByte for file storage is far too tiny. Nice video by the way.

The limitations are generally software based, rather than physical, so opening it up wouldn't really achieve anything. 1MB is memory is a lot when you consider the average cut file size is just a few kb.

@@GentlemanCrafterUK I guess I'm the exception. My .FCMs are 300 KBs-600 KBs or more each. But it looks like the scanner could be made to utilize a 12x24 inch mat if it were just a matter of software?

Not entirely sure what you are creating but that is huge! Are you mistaking these for project files?

@@GentlemanCrafterUK Embedded jigsaw puzzles that fit 1,000 to 1,890 pieces in 3x3 and 3x3x3 inches. Among other things. Latest puzzle has no borders. Is designed for 30,000 pieces basic size. Can be interlinked indefinitely.

Embedded design for 1,000 piece puzzle has 40 square pieces. Each of those has 25 one quarter inch identical jigsaw shapes within it. Make the game as hard as you like based on your needs or age.

Thanks for that. I have downloaded the app but not tried to use it. The new scanncut is way out of my reach, I have the dx1200. I also have an embroidery machine but it won’t work with that either so I will probably delete the app.

It does work with the sdx1200 so worth keeping hold of for the free projects and and cut files at least.

Here's hoping they can do a firmware update to the older sdx machines to give the missing function needed for artspira, although I think that's unlikely. If there's not enough room in the firmware it can't happen. I've just upgraded by purchasing a friend's sdx1200 lol

i got the 325dx and it only connects with router not a phone using a wifi hotspot, is this going to fix this problem?

It is intended to connect via WiFi as all the machines do so, probably not.

I watched an Allbrands KZbin video where Brother lists the machines that will work with Artspira. They said all embroidery machines with Wi-Fi capability which is a longer list. SNC they didn’t detail, if my memory is correct. Check it out!
