You so hit the nail on the head again Valentina. We from Scandinavia (I'm from Stockholm) buy the best quality we can afford then we hold on to it forever and ever. I was always surprised by the buy and toss culture here in the US. Wonderful pictures in this video.

That's true same in India as well. The quality of things in the rest of the world has gone down. Marketing has created a concept called " planned obsolence" where they create products that do not last long so customers are forced to buy more as the object gives up after some time. They do not manufacture things to last anymore. This is why we have more clutter and trash thats filling landfils and lining pockets of corporates.

I have always had a difficult time finding my style. I am usually drawn to a luxe look but never really love glam. I just could not figure what I love. But seeing the scandi luxe design really has many of the things that I love (luxe and minimal). I am thinking that it is the perfect match for me. Thank you for introducing this style.

I restyled our home last year to Hamptons style and also got rid of a lot of Stuff and kept it all minimal, no clutter anywhere and it’s a great feeling not only for us but for when our time comes it will make it so much easier for our children because there’s no stuff they have to sort through, everything has it’s place in our Forever Home, I love ❤️ watching all your videos and getting ideas on styling even though my home is different to yours the tips you give are still general ones that work in any style of home. I just learned that my style is Coastal Scandi Lux😊 I have always had that coastal style, I live in Southern California so I think I will always have that coastal vibe going on but since moving into our forever my style has changed some and I am only buying pieces now that I truly love. It really shows that you have lived here in Scandinavia. You are spot on, Valentina. And yes, the scaled back, decluttered home is absolutely much more calming and soothing to exist in. It frees up space in our mind too, to be more creative. What I do a lot is store away, so that I can change the look of my home more often. That way lots of the items that I love can get a revival over and over again. Once you don’t see them every day it becomes so much easier to view them differently once you bring them back out. And then arranging them in a whole new way is a real joy.

This has literally been my style my whole life, I have always loved ikea and always collected and poured over the catalogs since I first started living on my own. But, starting out we didn't have much money and I wasn't an I interior designer and there wasn't Google, yet (one of the Google guys went to my high school). So, I never knew how to make my home look like the pages. I would buy the things I thought I needed, but, it would always look half-done or unfinished. Well, fast-forward and thank God for being more mature, having more money and for designers like YOU! I could never put my finger on what to call my style because it's not really in the "list" of styles. Thank you so so much for your coverage on scandi lux, and places like Restoration Hardware. I needed to know what made these spaces so luxurious. I've just moved into a new home near the beach and we are beginning to make our spaces. Now I have a clear guide. You are so RIGHT-ON-TIME! More like this please! I need more detail on creating the scandi lux drama with lighting and art without going overboard, or TOO big. 🙏 I'm kinda new to your channel, but have been binge watching so if you've seen your video watchtime going up, that's me! When I was in my 20s and early 30s, I had more of this style with blacks and whites and graphic fabric, art and lamps. When I moved into the semi-suburban new home, I veered off toward traditional. When I hit my 50s, we shed a lot of things and went toward cleaner lines in furniture and furnishings, and every year since we've worked toward clean lines and minimal stuff. But living life always shows in our home, like our hobbies, interests, passions, etc. Those things don't always look stylish! My embroidery machine is still a machine in my blue and white modern room. And clutter free is always something to strive toward but I'm not sweating over the details because I enjoy my hobby. Hi Valentina! I'm really loving the recent videos incorporating some drama through art pieces. It would be great to hear your take on incorporating the Scandi Luc design in smaller dated homes where it's not possible to purchase entirely new furniture ( build it into existing looks). Okay, this SPEAKS to me. We just moved to a brand new home. Downsized from the big house to 2550sq ft. So happy I found your videos on this style! I hate glam but my apartment is very modern with chrome fixtures and I wanted a more minimal look but also inviting. All of the chrome fixtures were really making me think I couldn’t actually style my apartment how I wanted.
