For some reason I have the false memory of them showing up together to help in the fight against Thordak, but I just checked the Wiki and they apparently only appeared once each and never again. I'm probably getting that confused with something else, but regardless, they didn't brutally kill him and display his head on a spike in C1 😢

As stated in the comment before me yeah Ancient Dragons are a bitch. Out of the chromatics I think the strongest to weakest in order is Red, Black, Blue, Green, and White. To put it into perspective Androphinxes(males) have a CR of 17(Number of players estimated to be needed to kill them not taking level into account). Meanwhile an Ancient Black Dragon is CR 21. Thats a decent gap in power as far as CR is concerned but the areas their stats are specialized in are different and allowed Umbrasyl to dominate him
