My opinion: Alongside Starlight Brigade, Magnum Bullets continues (and maybe even doubles down) on the INSANE expressiveness Knights Of The Light Table are capable of putting into animation. There's just tons of incredibly effective subliminal language going into their work - raw emotion, refined into art. The message it carries hits hard - especially if you, personally, have ever felt anything like the protagonists of these videos. In Starlight Brigade it was longing for a place to belong, finding one's destiny, and fighting against a dominating, dark depression - proving to everyone you can achieve and make your dreams come true, despite the odds. Now in Magnum Bullets, it's the sheer pain of losing a loved one, and the future times that were meant to be with them, all taken away by wretched, careless greed. The expressive anthropomorphism only helps sell the emotions so much more - the grief, anger and need for vengeance, especially after everything Tri cared for had already been destroyed in his absence and he had nothing left to lose but his own life. Notice how Tri - I think - takes Circle's revolver to enact his vengeance - and how it is dropped afterwards when he just walks away at the end, showing he had nothing left to live for now and absolutely no interest in reclaiming the gold everyone else seemed to care so much about to the point of cruel murder. The heartbroken avenger got his vengeance, and yet, for him, it was an empty victory because it won't ever bring back his loved one - who was still with him in spirit to the very end. It's the bittersweetness of it - people care so much about wealth, power and reputation. Yet in the end, life itself is the most valuable and fading thing we have - no matter your social status or amount of gold you have. Taking a life to acquire more wealth ("always wanting more") means you got these values fundamentally wrong, and will continue to carelessly tread on others and cause more harm than you could ever understand in your delusion of "power". This lack of understanding is what killed the wealthy, "untouchable" moose. Star and Square, still caring about the gold, were no match for the villain - it was the raw passion and grief of Tri that defeated the moose, preventing the villain from ever hurting anyone else like he had already hurt Tri. This is what resonates so much with us, to the point of making us tear up. Knights Of The Light Table manage to expertly tell a meaningful, emotional story with their legendary art in just 4 minutes. In conjunction with Dan's wonderful vocals and lyrics, you get this absolute masterpiece of art. And, for some additional story stuff, here's what I can guess from the end screens... Circle was gambling at a casino, and won the gold. Tri gets his stylish leather jacket gifted by Circle, notice the price tag still on it. Star seems to be, or was, a bounty hunter or something among those lines, possibly even working for the moose (yellow being their color, she's wearing a yellow coat). Then, there's a wanted poster, likely framing Circle for arson at the casino, painting them as a fugitive to control the media and justify the casino owner with his goons shooting up the place of celebration over Circle's lucky win. Because the house is supposed to always win, and it didn't. And parting with wealth seems to be out of question for the moose... ... sorry, I got a little rambly there. But I appreciate these artists and their work so much.

@@cathylauer6490 Well that's all up to interpretation for the viewer. They could be siblings, they could be lovers, they could be friends. @@heartofscrimp2002 Thanks a lot =D I was really afraid I could steal too much focus from the main attraction by adding text over it, so I had several iterations to try and "go with the flow" of the animation as best as I could to make sure it doesn't feel too out of place. Also I really like reading all the theories other people come up with to make sense of what's shown. That's the beauty of having some ambiguity - everyone comes up with the theory they connect with the most and therefore, the emotional impact is much stronger. ... art, man.

Another cool little detail, dunno if anyone noticed - the last bullet is gold colored. The gold and all the pain that this gold had absorbed killed the Moose in the end. From one pained heart exactly to the other. Also in some frames that same bullet is plain metal behind Tri riding on it, but it could be a symbol that to the Tri his pain is much more important than the gold, while everyone else (including us, my dear viewers) see only gold itself.

Magnum's pain, sense of loss and vengeance. Klondike's greed, selfishness and vanity. Both in pain. Both mirrors of each other, but vastly different in reason. Klondike didn't like the fact he lost that money, and wanted to satiate his wounded vanity by taking it back out of greed and pride. Magnum, on the other hand, lost someone near and dear to his heart. Friend, lover, sibling... It's never known outright. He did what he did out of pain, out of revenge and justified wrath and sorrow. Klondike paid for his selfish, greedy and prideful nature. Magnum, However, though he avenged his pack and his dearest friend/love/brother, has to live with that pain, and grieve for his loss. Quite a story, all told through Synthwave music and the emotions of the animation.

How close am I? (In terms of a story/plot) The pack of white wolves with different neon shapes on their foreheads own the club and bar. These vigilantes keep the best of the peace they can throughout the city while the rich live cozily in their beautiful towers, rarely coming down for something. One evening, the circle wolf gambled and won a rather big box/case of gold, and later, gifted his brother, the triangle wolf, with a new jacket that looks made with leather. Soon, it turns out that the pack was wanted because the circle wolf won the wealth from the wrong man, and that man turned out to be a mechanical crime lord with a holographic head. That crime lord's name is Klondike. After he massacred the pack, Klondike reclaimed his gold and then returned to his tower. When the triangle wolf and the star wolf returned to the club, they were horrified to find out that the pack was murdered. Devastated, he cried with a broken heart as he held his brother's lifeless body close to him. At least the star wolf's lover, the square wolf, survived the massacre, though he had lost his eye and his arm. Together, the three wolves vowed to avenge the pack, even if they must end the crime lord's life to do it. Using his genius and ingenuity, square roots reconstructed his lost arm into the claw. Tri Magnum takes up his younger brother's revolver, intending to waste the last bullet on the mechanical murderer who ripped his heart from him. After they managed to shoot their way to the top of Klondike's golden tower, a battle ensued. they slaughter their way through the Titanic mercenaries, and then, while Star and Square tried to defeat Klondike, he had stopped them both, but Tri was too far away for the crime lord to see, giving Tri an advantage. Just as Klondike was about to thrust a sharp object onto Square and Star, Tri fired his last bullet and it shot straight through his mechanical chest, finally avenging his brother. Star and Square take the gold to rebuild the pack with a new generation, while Tri, having no interest in wealth, dropped the now empty revolver and walked away, taking a new pact to protect the innocent, no matter how far he must go to avenge them. His death avenged, Sphere's spirit will be with Tri to the bitter end.

Is triangle wolf like juggling the gun back and forth before the final gunshot of the song or something? Pretty much every shot in the video they take is left handed and then during the walk up while the others are fighting the boss they are holding it in their right hand, then the close up shows it again in the right hand, then when the boss is readying to strike the two others triangle wolf is shown in a completely left handed stance with the gun fully extended in their left hand, to then zoom back into the gun being in their right when it shoots the bullet out. While they are possibly ambidextrous and they are shown holding it in their right hand a few times the rest of the video has them consistently shooting left handed to the point their final stance before firing their last shot is left handed.

I think it says a lot how much effort the other two put into the fight while the gun wolf simply takes aim and fires. Maybe it shows how much they are trying to move on while he chose the easy path?
@BlackSun4043 жыл бұрын
If you ask me, it's the reverse, actually. These two are fighting for the gold, for money. Tri didn't care about the gold - he was out for revenge after the only thing that ever mattered to him had been taken from him over that meaningless gold. He even drops the gun after it had served its purpose, suggesting that he doesn't care about his own life any longer and feels nothing but emptiness after he got his revenge. Everyone who is "trying to move on" fundamentally got their values wrong, caring more about wealth and power than lives, while Tri feels like he doesn't belong in a world like this any longer, now all on his lonesome. That's my take, anyhow - like in my pinned comment. =D
