Believing he should be king, Scar ordered his Lion Guard to help him overthrow Mufasa, only to annihilate them when they refused; the act would then strip Scar of the roar forever. As such, Kion makes a great effort to refrain from misusing his gift and becoming the dark figure his great-uncle was.
