Shimo tried to disobey Scar even at first when he ordered her to attack Kong, but the crystal was too much. As soon as she realized she was free she did what she probably wanted to forever. I felt so bad for poor Shimo. She was tortured for so long.

It definitely exudes his personality!!!! I wished Legendary hadn't killed off the Skar King. There was so.... much potential for such a wicked villain like him. A true cunning, ancient threat that could have taken the kaiju war to the surface on another level. Star King learning of Kong and Gojira's alliance, and losing control of Shimu could have forced the wicked simian to unleash/summon more powerful kaiju to let them wreck havoc on the surface. The Skar King's appetite for other powerful kaiju, could have unlocked the powers that gives this ancient simian the electrokinesis. Such an ability could help Skar King lock up the muscles of larger more stronger titans when he is in combat. This could have been a series of movies that built up for the epic final showdown, where the Skar King' s fall pitted Gojira against Kong (whom inherits Skar King's electrokinesis) upon the Skar King' s demise. Such a villain should have lasted so much longer. The previews really hyped this guy and he could have lived up to it.

I understand that it was showm in the movie, but considering that Godzilla in 2014 has trouble fighting two mutos, the one shown in the cave paintings is NOT soloing hundreds of apes. He 100% had help, either from Mothra, or other Gojirans who lived in the same time as Godzilla.

It seems that most people don't understand why Scar King had to be both strong and weak at the same time: Dude is an allegory for the "Folly of maaaaan". He's a human dictator in Kaiju clothing, kind of like what Apex could have become if Mechagodzilla was a success. He's right up there with DESTROYAH in being a perfect foil to Godzilla

Also, once you remove his title of emperor, you can also describe Skar King as typical school bully. Skar loves to pick on those who can't fight back, even having some loyal followers. Of course, like any bully, once his opponents are able to overwhelm him, Skar King goes down very easily. Skar King is basically what Ghidorah was to Godzilla. Skar King may physically look like Kong, but his sadistic personality and desire to conquer the surface world make the tyrannical ape very similar to the golden terror.
