Loved the drone footage and I have very happy memories from Scarborough going back almost 40 years, so always nice to see it again, especially when the sun is out too. I remember seeing The Krankies at the Spar, Ken Dodd at the Futuristic and The Chuckle Brothers at The Corner, those were the boom years, shame nothing seems to have replaced those things today. Nice that some traditions still exist with the fisherman playing football and the Boxing Day raft race, cheers Alan

I saw Ken Dodd at the North Pier in Blackpool, if I remember rightly he was a right grafter, his show went on for hours! talk about value for money. Wow, the Krankies, whatever happened to them? I showed my Mum Christmas With The Kranks the other week and she was really worried it was going to be the Krankies! (it would have been fun though). ah the Corner, really fond memories of that and the open air swimming pool next to it and Mr Marvels above it, not everything has changed for the better! its a great football tradition but hopefully there are no fire emergencies on Boxing Day Morning! hope you had a great Crimbo!

Hi Phil this is what we love about Scarborough it is definitely stuck in the bygone era and still doing all the traditions! when we recently visited Doncaster to cover our boarded up series we felt like we were abroad it was so modern and alien to us! massive retail parks on the outskirts, something we don’t have in Scarborough! xx all the best and happy new years

Scarborough looks so lovely. Watched half last night when we were up in Carlisle - watching the rest now. Love the old Victorian lifts. Lucky escape there with Saville row!!! Wow amazing it's so busy on Boxing Day. Yaya for dogs on the beach in winter. That's so cool about the footy game. The traditions are amazing. Even more reason to visit! Raft race?? We're intrigued!! It must be lovely to be able to walk around Scarborough such a beautiful place for a walk. Interesting that it is the busiest day outside the summer season. Love the idea of the mile of pennies. Must be great for local businesses 🙄. Hi Nick & Jill Wonderful to see Scarborough buzzing on Boxing Day. It made me smile to see all those dogs so excited at being let loose on the beach haha And then the penny trail! It reminded me of when I was in the Brownies (a few years ago now haha ) we used to do something similar for Remembrance day ... though it was easier then as the pennies were much larger 😆🤣 (really showing my age now 🤣) The Fisherman v Fireman activities sound fun though I think the icing on the cake has to go to the raft race ... brave of anyone to participate in this event with the possibility of egg on your face, flour in your hair or even a dunking, All in all looks a fab,fun day. 🤗🤗♥️♥️xx

hi Christine, hope you have had a wonderful Christmas, I was alive during pre decimalisation and I remember being given the odd shilling and pence but was too young to spend them! the football match is usually a massive free for all on the beach, with residents hoping that no fires need extinguishing on Boxing Day morning! the raft race is brilliant but I was a bit peeved that only one vessel completely collapsed. I think the participants are getting raft making lessons somewhere, I prefer it when most of them sink! hope you have a wonderful NYE and look forward to meeting up in the New Year! xx

Not sure how I missed this but better late than never huh. Looks a fun day out and you was lucky with the British weather being kind for once. The terrace looks a lovely walk any time of the year with super views over Scarborough bay. May interesting historic features along the way. The audio is also spot on. I like the smalls breaks in the video. Is that a break in filming or just taking out a few frames from a continued film? If the first great stuff on marrying up where you left off and if the second well done on combating potential aching arms. It got noticeably busy around the 20 minute mark and great all the shops open on Boxing Day. I even noticed a few hardy souls supping ale in the beer garden! The rafting event sure draws the crowds in. I bet the water is freezing so making sure your home made raft doesn't sink or fall apart is what you're praying for. The being eggs thrown at you would be no problem and a minor irritation in comparison I would think. Super coverage 🙂

Excellent dronage once again! Love that dramatic sky! I didn't even know there was a cliff lift! Beautiful view from up on South Cliff. Do you find it awkward when you're walking with the camera past people on these walkthroughs and don't know whether to say hello? I just try to give them a big smile myself. Those shelters have been around for a while! Last time I went past some of them in Eastbourne and Brighton they had homeless folk sleeping in them. Ah yes the spa bridge! Savile Row 😬 wasn't there also a famous tailors with that name in London? Probably had to change it now! The museum looks very cool. Ooh on the sand now! Some of those dogs are going to need a warm bath when they get home! Who usually wins, the Fishermen or the Firemen? Good way to burn off the Xmas excess! Mile of pennies is great! Good to see lots of people out and about! The raft race sounds interesting! The sky looks very dramatic! Brr I hope none of the rafters fall in 🥶 eggs and flour, that's a bit mean 😂 great video guys! we have two cliff lifts remaining, growing up there were four. the two remaining ones seem to get a lot of use so hopefully they will stay! with you on that Matt, big smile to show I’m not being rude but I don’t want my voice on the film. its great getting peoples reactions and it seems to make the video more interesting, plus there’s a bigger chance they will look for the video to see themselves later! the homeless situation in Scarborough is really getting out of hand, we have a ton of pretend ones in the town centre that are praying on the bigger Christmas footfall but then we have the real ones, we have a “tent city” now on the North Bay with literally dozens of tents with homeless in that aren’t going anywhere. I only imagine this will get worse. it’s nearly always the firemen I believe! have a great new year, the pistachio liquor was a hit, I might have to get some more!
