SCARBOROUGH GOLD CUP 2013 (saturday)

Here is a selection of high speed clips from last weekend's International Gold Cup meeting at Oliver's Mount circuit in Scarborough.
Riders include No.1 Guy Martin, No.3 Michael Dunlop, No.5 Bruce Anstey, and No.6 William Dunlop.
Hopefully this video will show what a totally unique venue this is to watch motorcycle racing in the UK.
It is a far cry from the dull world of Silverstone AKA "Fence City" where viewing has extremely poor for spectators these days, and has been destroyed as a serious spectator experience due to F1 - The Oliver's Mount circuit in comparison is just the same as it always was way back in the 60's and 70's and is still an extremely exciting place to both watch and compete.
I first went to Olivers Mount as a small child around 1978 watching Grant and Sheene duke it out, and despite a spell in the 90's when I stopped going as the 4 stroke superbikes began to take over from the proper racing machines, I have been going quite regularly.
Please note this video is relatively unfinished, particularly on the audio side where no mixing has taken place, but there is some good stuff in this video.

It is quite difficult to drive a car around it is so narrow and tight - but it has great history. The viewing certainly puts Silverstone to shame. Having said that EVERY circuit puts Silverstone to shame for viewing!

i just love watching the bikes race but this track is scarey,how close are the spectators with no protection it makes it more scarey but great racing , a narrow track as well if theres a faller god know where they will end up,not knocking it bye the way just love it
