I have *absolutely* no idea if this has any bearing on this ARG, but Plato's Cave of Shadows is often used as a metaphor for the false perspective of cinema and therefore our own relationship to what we see on the screen. Are we distanced from it or complicit? Caught in a web of perspectives or outside of them? The classic case is A Clockwork Orange: are we ever 'outside' the film? So I guess *maybe* the Cave of Shadows is playing with the idea that you are 'part of' the game, or even the game itself. I know. Pretentious sounding. But it's philosophy I promise you, and meant to be playful. I mean, they're calling themselves 'Cave of Shadows' for a reason, however tongue in cheek.

I can't help but wonder if the story of the Penguin in episode 3 is allegorical to the Overwatcher. At the end, it says that Penguin "sees you every day, any..." (cuts off there). That closely mirrors two of the Base64 messages in episode 2: "he=is=watching=you" and "he=is=sees everything." Now maybe this is a reach, but the segment of the Penguin's story about taking his friend into the bathroom contains "Material Under Investigation." Could that be at all tied to the coded message in episode 2 stating that "there=are voices in the=water?" After all, the weather forecast in episode 1 (during which the first message was leaked) led to the removal of the forecast in episodes 2 and 3. Maybe the removal of the bathroom details from Penguin's story is related to the water message leaked during episode 2. Did some sinister water-related activity go on in the bathroom? And if Penguin is in any way allegorical to the Overwatcher, then what does it mean? It probably means I'm REALLY overthinking things. lol
