Nier Automata does it well, though. Each playthrough builds upon the previous ones. Details and plot points could be purposely obfuscated to be revealed in a future playthrough. This game is just two different perspectives of the same story. It might have some things left vague for the other story, but the fact that you can play either one first means there won't be any grand reveals or "aha" moments.

Reviews are mixed on this one, but most people agreed that combat is boring and competitive early on when you have no upgrade and then become bloated with too much options once you unlocked more skills from the tree. Xbox has been pushing to have games be available on gamepass day1 on release day. Xbox is already releasing their 1st party games day one on gamepass, stuff like halo, gears, the outerworlds, forza, state of decay, wasteland etcc. Aside from 1st party, xbox adds 3rd party games to the service. We seen stuff like gta5, red dead 2, monster hunter world, dmc5, dragon quest, outsiders, yakuza, etcc. For example halo Infinite and forza horizon 5 will be coming out this year for $60 each or if you are subscribed to GP you can play them day 1.

@TKsuperturbo Can't comment on this game specifically, but some games do have soundtracks that don't really stand out when you're playing them, but if you stop to listen or download them then they're actually really good. In that case it's as much an issue with the audio design of the game, or the soundtrack not quite doing what it needed to do for that game? Nier games have actually pretty good soundtracks, but there's usually so much going on you never actually hear them, especially the combat music; compare to Soulsborne games which have epic boss fight music that stands out somehow without interfering with your ability to hear the audio cues for moves.

I actually really like these kind of games, when I got the demo, I did like it but the one thing that put me off were the inputs do do certain things, it just seemed convoluted for no good reason, after watching this, maybe I just didn't spend enough time in the demo.

Looks so good. I've been eagerly awaiting this one. I like the review too. You have a new subscriber @Easy Allies

I'm having fun with the game so far. It's reminiscent of the old school hack and slash dungeon crawlers that used to be very popular back with the PS2. Scratches that itch for a new dark cloud game.

Would've been 2 times better if all characters were playable.

If you’ve finished both campaigns which order makes more narrative sense?
@Jenema23 жыл бұрын
I'm fairly certain they said it's made to be played in any order.

All the reviews I’ve seen mentioned how one camping kinda fleshes out and gives context to the event of the other. Just curious if being privy to one campaign’s reveal over the others has a harder punch or makes more sense.

This is substantially more positive than his impressions video. Different writer?

So does anyone know if everyone gets the same experience with the companions and bond system? Or is there dialogue options, affinity points and all that?

I have played and like this game but I feel astral chain did it better. Still a good game but i feel like it had even more potential leaving me a little disappointed My biggest gripe it the flow of combat mid to late game. You have trash, gimmick, and elite mobs. The former 2 are fine and it feel rewarding to exploit their weaknesses but elite aka mini bosses feel cheap with super armor and fast aoe attacks but are manageable with team attacks. During the second half of the game they give up introducing new enemies except couple boss encounters, and spam at an increasing rate elite mobs. When going against multiple elite mobs you literally have to resort to cheap stun locking or spamming brain field. At this point in the game the combat doesn’t feel that rewarding to me especially when you have limited defensive tools vs elite mobs not counting sas spam. Also the final level is a complete slog with several areas all of which spam elites and really annoying ranged gimmick enemies. If there was more story telling during these sections it would be ok but you get 3 cutscenes a minute each over a 2 or more hour level. As far as potential I felt like they could have borrowed somethings from radient historia to flush out backstories and what if to develop characters more.

Nice to hear! I really liked the look of this one but there's so many action games that just aren't worth the time. Glad this one isn't a disappointment.

its wierd how some jrpg games get worldwide releases and some have been around for decades and take even longer to get localized. I know its money but geez.
