Scarlet Ravenswood, The one thing you were accurate about, was that Christianity & Christian holidays & customs are a mixture of Paganism & the Bible. That is why I & many others, like myself, do not consider ourselves part of Christianity, which evolved from the 2nd-4th century Pagan Greek & Roman apostasy, which hijacked the true first century religion of Yahshua the true Messiah & His apostles. But I'm sure you, apparently being a neo-Pagan witch & expert on ancient Pagan culture & history, already know all that. However, there are several things you were wrong about in this video. First of all, the Pilgrims, who observed that festival with their Native American friends, in 1621, were Puritans, were not commiting atrocities against them & observed that festival for a week in early October, as the writings of Governor William Bradford, who helped them organize the festival, reveal. Some historians believe, since they observed it during the same week as the Biblical Festival of Tabernacles (Succoth) in 1621, that those early Puritans, who rejected & outllawed observing Catholicism's half Pagan festivals, of Christmas & Easter, in their colonies, were trying to observe that Biblical festival. Also, what you said about Native Americans worshipping Pagan deities & spirits, like ancient Pagans, was not true of all tribes. I am about half Native American, so I can speak with some authority & credibility, just as you can, as a neo-Pagan witch. I am part Cherokee (Tsalagi) & part Osage Sioux (Lakota). My Cherokee ancestors believed in ONE Great Spirit & Creator & even knew of His Hebrew name, "Yahweh", as did some other tribes. They even found Hebrew writings & scrolls with the Ten Commandments, buried with some of the Cherokee, in the 1700s, proving that dispersed Israelites sailed across the Atlantic, long before Columbus, as did the Phoenecians, vikings & others, then mixed with & influenced some of the eastern Native American tribes. That is why some of the eastern tribes were more civilized & able to assimilate into European culture more easily. Some, including myself, believe "Yah" & "HaYah", which are Hebrew references to the name "Yahweh", in the Scriptures, that you can clearly hear in the ritual chants of several Native American tribes, is definite proof that the ancient Israelites had come here & taught them about the one true Creator, Yahweh. So not all Native American tribes were completely Pagan, without knowledge of the true Creator. You said you enjoy the holidays & their connection to ancient Pagan festivals, deities & spirits. But I wonder who you will call upon for help, when those deities & spirits, who are actually Satan & his 50 million rebel angels, are cast down & confined to this earth & wreak havoc, during the soon coming "great tribulation". Will you call upon them, or repent & call upon Yahweh. Joel 2:32 & Acts 2:21 says, "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call upon the name of Yahweh shall be saved". I hope you will repent & call upon Yahweh!

@@nunyabzniz7968 BECAUSE, APPARENTLY, SHE IS ONE OF MILLIONS OF NEO-PAGAN (MODERN PAGAN) WITCHES, WHO IS, MOST LIKELY, NOT AN INTENTIONALLY EVIL PERSON & SEEMS LIKE A SWEET & KIND PERSON, BUT PROBABLY DELIGHTS IN THE FACT & POSSIBLY EVEN FINDS IT HUMOROUS, THAT SINCE THE SECOND CENTURY, ALMOST ALL THE CHRISTIANS HAVE ADOPTED SO MANY HOLIDAYS & PRACTICES FROM PAGANS. READ THE COMMENTS I MADE OF HER VIDEO, IN WHICH I CONFIRMED THAT SHE IS CORRECT, BUT THAT THERE ARE MESSIANIC BELIEVERS WHO DO NOT ACCEPT & OBSERVE THESE PAGAN HOLIDAYS & PRACTICES, LIKE MOST OF THE CHRISTIANS STILL DO, THAT IN 1621, THE PILGRIMS OF PLYMOUTH WERE ACTUALLY OBSERVING THE HARVEST FESTIVAL, AN ENTIRE WEEK, IN EARLY OCTOBER, DURING THE BIBLICAL FESTIVAL OF INGATHERING, CALLED SUCCOTH (TABERNACLES) & THAT SOME TRIBES OF NATIVE AMERICANS, INCLUDING ONE OF TWO TRIBES I DESCENDED FROM, BELIEVED IN JUST ONE GREAT SPIRIT & CREATOR. SHE APPARENTLY LOVES CELEBRATING THE HOLIDAYS, WITH ALL OF THEIR ANCIENT PAGAN PRACTICES & TRADITIONS, JUST LIKE MOST CHRISTIANS DO.

Hope you enjoy the video! Comment down below your thoughts and share your favorite Thanksgiving dish. ??? ALL HOLIDAYS ARE PAGAN NOT CHRISTIAN. LIARS TEACHING LIES. GIVE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS BEFORE IS LATE. RELIGION CANNOT SAVE YOU. SO THEN MOHAMED BUDA GANDHI CALCUTA THE POPE GUADALUPE MARIA SANTERIA & ALL THE OTHERS CANNOT DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. STOP MOCKING YOURSELF. STOP PRAISING LIARS TEACHING LIES. STOP SINNING. NO PSYCHOLOGY NOR PHILOSOPHY HAS THE POWER TO SAVE YOUR SOUL FROM THE CONDEMNATION OF HELL. SO THEN I LEFT CATHOLIC OR CHRISTIANITY OR RELIGION OR THEOLOGY OR MAN OR WORLD OR SATAN. TO FOLLOW OR GIVE MY HEART OR LIFE TO JESUS. WORSHIP GOD IS NOT THE RITUAL OR SCRIPT LEARNED IN THE "TEMPLE OR CHURCH" (CLOTHES BIBLE ON HANDS SPEAK IN "TONGUES" ETC.). WORSHIP GOD GOES BEYOND THE RITUAL. GOD WANTS US TO BE THE TEMPLE OR CHURCH. SO THEN WORSHIP GOD IS TO LIVE OR TITHE OR OFFERING YOUR LIFE TO HIM. BEFORE JESUS GOD COMMANDED. AFTER JESUS GOD CALLS ME TO GIVE BY GRACE WHAT BY GRACE IS GIVEN. I AM THE CHURCH. WHEN FROM GENESIS TO REVELATIONS DID GOD OR JESUS TEACH HIS PEOPLE TO PARTAKE WITH THE WORLD PRAISING PAGAN? You really want to know the truth? REVELATION 22.15. God is not biblical religion nor being religious. The bible is the word of 3 God Satan & Man. Exposed or inspired or motivated by God by the writers. So then God says John 4.23-24. JESUS IS NOT RELIGION INCLUDING CHRISTIANITY OR SORCERY INCLUDING "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" INCLUDING YOUR BIRTHDAY. MY HOLYDAY JESUS IS THE SABBATH THE PASSOVER THE PENTECOST THE NARROW DOOR THE ROCK THE GOSPEL OR CHRIST OR MESSIAH THE WAY AND THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. Sadly 97-99% of "churches & pastors" do pagan idolatry sin praising LIES mans ways turkey day Christmas good Friday Easter palm Sunday valentines mothers fathers day new years trinity birthday candles bible study etc. including you? in "God's name". They don't follow Jesus or the gospel or relationship. They don't think speak and do like Jesus. They don't look like Jesus. They follow Christianity or religion or man or world. Reason why they are blind deaf dead or in bondage. Their power is INVALID. Proverbs 14.12 30.5-6. Matthew 7.13-27 15.1-20 23.1-33. JOHN 3.16-21 8.43-47 14.6. ACTS 3.19. Romans 1.18-32. Galatians 6.7-8. James 4.4. God is a Liar. They are not. They are humble and wise. And going to heaven. They talk against religion or program or scripts but they are religious. They say... We Are Not Perfect And I Think This And That. Why? Because they do not know God or Jesus or the Father Son & Holy Spirit. They are not appointed by God. They are appointed by man to sugarcoat you or tell what your flesh wants to hear. God does not sugarcoat. Satan does. So then God says Matthew 7.21-23. What Will? Matthew 7.13-14 16.24-26 22.36-40 25.31-46 BY MY HOLYDAY JESUS. RELATIONSHIP? MATTHEW 7.24-25. RELIGION? MATTHEW 7.26-27. ARE YOU THE CHURCH? SADLY YOU ARE NOT. GIVE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS BEFORE IS LATE. RELIGION CANNOT SAVE YOU.

Look at the astrology of Thanksgiving. It always falls in November after the Sun moves into Sagittarius. It also always falls on a Thursday, which is the Day of Jupiter. Jupiter rules Sagittarius. Jupiter relates to travel, abundance, expansion, gratitude, and beliefs. What do we do on Thanksgiving? We travel to visit family, celebrate our abundance by expanding our bellies, express gratitude for it all, and argue about our beliefs! 😊

Not Thanksgiving too!! First Christmas, the Easter, I know about Valentine's day.😳😳😬😬. Well, this year that's out too. The established churches should know this. They should be teaching this also😠😠😠. If we're going to do something, we can do it without the pagan associations. Thanksgiving is a day of gluttony to tell the truth. We should be having a seven year Jubilee, Passover, and other Holy Days specified in the bible. I need to write this stuff down😤😤. We know better and must do better.

I'm english born and for my family the event was never very big-just trying to blend in with the neighbors in the colonies around NY, but this does open new ideas thank you. Our Halloween decorations are very 'fall' oriented, we just take in the jack-o-lantern and the witch crashed into the oak tree in the garden, but leave the other pumpkins, corn and cornstalks up until after thanksgiving showing the fall celebration. I usually do duck for the big day as there is just me and my wife but my best side dishes are corn bread and a pecan pie and now I'm going to be more aware of their tie to pagan harvests.

Thanksgiving isn't just a harvest celebration, it is rooted directly in the genocide of Native Americans, otherwise you'd be celebrating Mabon or any other harvest celebration. Only Americans celebrate Thanksgiving. People in England *do* celebrate the Harvest, albeit mildly, but we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Just because it took elements from various other harvest festivals doesn't mean you can pretend it has nothing to do with the Native American genocide. Native American spiritualities had harvest festivals, but they don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Hmm... wonder why.

Very interesting and well-done video, once again! As I have hitherto understood it (although I may be mistaken), the reason for the two harvest holidays is that Lughnasadh on 1 August marked the beginning of the harvest season, while Samhain on 31 October marked the end. This can be partly seen in the old German nomenclature for the month of August, which is called Ernting or Erntemond (harvest moon) following Heuert/Heumond (hay moon) which denoted July. The German word for November, however, is simply Gilbhart (referring, I assume, to the leaves turning golden), while in (Scots) Gaelic it is called an t-Samhain, presumably marking summer's end.

Hi! Scarlet. Very nice video, enjoyable, relaxing, educational & fun. So that's where the conucopia comes from? hmmm ... that horn appears in many culters in various ways. A blending of Christian and Pagan cultures (again) as Pagan harvesting, feasting & celebrations honoring the Gods & Goddesses meets the Christian Day of Thanks Giving established by the Church. As for my favorite Thanks Giving food. When I was a little boy in 6th. grade my middle school English Teacher made Cranberry Relish. I took the recipe home and asked my Parents to make it. & became a family tradition for years to come. It can be tangy, sweet, or smooth depending on the desired amount of ingredients. Also, the shape of the cornucopia was a symbol of fertility (=bounty) in that it contains representation of both the Goddess and the God. (the cup and the pointy thing!). It could also view as androgynous because of this. Oh, and Cranberry relish! HTD!

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday because it speaks to me. Thankful for the harvest, family, community, roof over my head and football. Now I know why it speaks to me at a deeper, instinctual level. Thanks!

Weren’t native Americans mostly Hunter/gatherer? What do you mean “they looked forward to the harvest”? I know there were a few tribes that did a small amount of farming but it was mostly Europeans that brought farming into America.

I honestly had no idea about any of this! I always thought of Thanksgiving as an eh holiday because like you said, it’s like a rose colored glasses version of the actual treatment of Native Americans. But now, I actually look forward to celebrating ❤️

Speak up for your beliefs. You are entitled to them. Tell them to give your child something else and tell them it is against your religious beliefs. Period.

The Cerealia were a spring festival, celebrated in April. Thanksgiving however is a harvest festival of autumn. It is rather equivalent to the Roman festival of the Epulum Iovis, which was celebrated during the Ides of September, but included an epulum (dining with a god) in honor of Iuppiter. BTW it was in the first place the Indians that committed atrocities against the European settlers, not te other way around. As pagans we should be very sensitive, when it comes to modern attempts to rewrite history.

I will likely never understand the jump from 'this animal is sacred' to 'lets kill it and eat it's flesh' 😥 Especially in modern times where access to ample grains, beans, fruits and veg are cheap and abundant.

This is interesting, but the way I see it, Thanksgiving is not a "pagan" holiday, or necessarily a Christian holiday. It is an AMERICAN holiday. That is all. And that is enough for me because America is a REAL nation, and as Americans, we have OUR OWN borders, language, and culture - as much as modernists want to deny that. Western Civilization has a culture that goes back thousands of years. And every day of the year probably had some pagan holiday or festival that fell on it. If we were to worry about that, then Christians would not be able to celebrate any kind of holiday - unless you stuck to the holidays and feast days that are in the Old Testament. And even that would be hard because of lot of those holidays and feast days were tied to the Temple, and we don't have the Temple today, and America is not a theocracy.

*I'm a Jehovah's Witness* and I appreciate your help with showing the truth behind holidays. As a Jehovah's Witness, I only believe in the True God in the Bible, Jehovah, who sent his only begotten Son Christ to give us a second opportunity to obtain everlasting life on Earth, as God's original plan for Adam and Eve. They would've been alive today on earth if not for their disobedient selfish way of thinking.

Sorry but this earth is going to be burt and a new heaven and earth God will create. I pray you come out of that false doctoring that you been taught. Jesus is the messiah and he died for your sins. You have to repent and turn to him. No one comes to the father but through Yashua his hebrew name. That you probably dont know about.
