How does 130+ compare to the flex on non-touring boots?

They are incredibly stiff but still progressive in the upper flex, could easily be a resort boot that is light enough to tour. Alpine boots are likely more stiff but also so much heavier and not as comfy.

Hi, since some guys say that for powder didnt like stiff boots, what do you think of 130? My idea will be pair it with my 95mm freeride tour ski+ my Mirus Cor resort ski, donyou think will be better the normal quattro? Or the sl? Im 173 76k Thanks a lot

@@gabrielmarias972 - I ski off piste in an Atomic 130 flex touring boot (Hawx Ultra XTD), and I (at 178cm/72kg) find them just fine. But yes, as you usually don't need to drive the shovels & edges like you do on a firm piste, a softer flexing boot would likely work just as well. The normal Quattro would be fine, if it fitted you. But I'd mention is that the Quattros, like my Atomics, have gripwalk soles. In my experience these are less than ideal for grip (scrambling up a rocky face) or walking! I'd lean towards a boot with a Vibram type sole, altho' fit is of course a far more important factor.

@Benzknees thanks for the feedback! The Atomics are a bit heavier than quattros and less ROM for walk/skinning when i will use for some touring, about the sole, for more alpine y have Scarpa f1 XT. I think quattro sl is 110flex and normal is 120 so for freeride touring-resort i guess 120 will be fine. My actual XT are around 100..

@ - The current Atomics are way too heavy, but mine are from a few years ago before they changed the plastics in the boot. Still a bit heavier than the Quattros though. My usual ski touring partner uses a Scarpa Maestrale, with a 110/120 flex & less boot weight still, and that works just fine in all kinds of off piste conditions. But IMHO 100 flex is too soft (my last but one boots were this flex).
