Agreed, was interesting to see where on some finger jams Pete slid the thumb inside underneath and on others not, I'm guessing a slight difference in width, but nice to see the subtle adjustment.

Maybe not known to most, but I've actually always done solo climbing on and off from quite young. I guess my crack climbing and other trad climbing has always overshadowed it though. It must be said I have zero interest in hard free soloing though. I like to keep it at a level that is comfortable

Hi! Big fan from Czech Republic here. I definitely enjoy the POV footage especially when there's no music over it. It's very good to be able to see how you go about using your jams and vary techniques accordingly to the width and shape of the cracks and holds. I am a beginner when it comes to crack climbing (weird for a Czech person - I know) so I also appreciate being able to hear the breathing and wind and everything.. makes the experience much more immersive. Lastly I agree with some of the others that a combination of some angle shots and the POV is probably the most enjoyable to watch although it is probably the most demanding one when it comes to production. Anyways THANK YOU for making such an amazing content on regular basis. Btw I'd love to see you do more parkour after watching the videos with Toby! I do parkour for living and think you're a natural talent Pete!! :))

While I would basically never encourage anyone to free solo, I think the GoPro footage is absolutely fucking incredible! Love to see how the master climbs on some cracks! So much to learn!
@danieljensen26263 жыл бұрын
I like this, it's cool to see your hand placement better, but I'm glad you have the shot from further back too. GoPro footage tends to lose perspective so it's nice to have it in addition to another angle. I think this would be good to mix into your outdoor stuff, on multipitch we could get a bit more than just vlogging from the ledges when you take a rest, haha.
@Jaysthudandblunder2 жыл бұрын
Climbed when I was younger because I have vertigo. Watching you free solo and then look down past your feet made it all come back in abundance. Prefer rope solo if for nothing other than I can keep my dinner down ;) The go pro works really well in tandem with long shots
@northerngreg3 жыл бұрын
Loving the POV, Pete. Good balance of POV and wider shots. Some picture in picture would be good too - smaller POV in the corner of a wider shot all synced up for crucial moves would be mint.
@ees01373 жыл бұрын
Would enjoy hearing a little commentary hearing you discuss some of the jam selections and techniques as you climb. Knowing the camera's rolling, you can make sure you get a good view of the jam start to finish before looking away and moving on. How about maybe a video supplement to your book that you can unlock with a purchase?

LETS GOOO! Absolutely loved the variety of angles in this video. Now we just need a multi pitch rope solo POV. I did my first rope solo yesterday and it was a success overall but still have no idea how it would work on a multi pitch hanging belay. I also don’t see why you can’t just attach to the anchor and lower off the dead rope if the route is less than half a ropes length and doesn’t traverse. Then you don’t have to switch over the gri gri to the live rope. Is there something I’m not getting?
