Dear Mark Arabic is not so scary if you know the alphabet for example :ا= A , ب=B , ت= T , ث= th and so on there are 27 letters in arabic language the scary side in arabic from the point of view of westerns is that it is written from right to left , if you would like one day to know any thing about arabic just send me I will be glad to help you in this point thankyou for beeing helpfull to me to learn me english

M8 arabic is fuckin scary, first of all theres that right to left writing instead of left to right, second of all the letters like completely change once u connect them with another, this language is hard

We have 23 official languages that are spoken and recognised by my country constitution. Most scariest language that I found to learn in India was Kannada. Actually you are right in saying that any language can be learned through tough thorough thought though - as long as you teach them. All these topics that you pick up are so thought provoking. You make the class so interactive. I don’t speak so much in regular classes but here my fingers automatically go to hit all the keyboard buttons 😄

I am a Vietnamese. Vietnamese is one of the most difficult languages in the world. But in my opinion, it's not difficult in writing because our alphabet is pretty similar to Latin alphabet. The challenge is how to pronounce it right. As you said, the meanings of sentences will change And I think Chinese is opposite to Vietnamese. It's easier in speaking (at least it's right for Vietnamese people coz we use lots of borrowed words from Chinese) but harder in writing. So I gave up learning Chinese after 1 month 😭

Every language in the entire world has some sides of horror. Personally, I realize Arabic and Mandarin Chinese make me scare the most. Vietnamese is not my huge issue because I am Vietnamese :) English? I speak English fluently though, but for some reasons, when it comes to speaking, I sometimes get stuck at it due to difficult sounds in a row. By the way, thank you so much for that incredible video. I love linguistics and you make me laugh and be excited when I watch it, especially when you talk about my native language ^^

Arabic might be the hardest of all mentioned in this video, there are small "sub-letters" above and below letters that change the meaning of words, same goes to Hebrew. Also, Arabic has the most number of words compared to every human language. Let alone constring most letters in words is a must.
