OMG that's the garden they visit at the beginning of the Sailor Moon R movie!! I thought it looked familiar. I also guessed that cafe was based on Kitaro cause I knew it was an older yokai-centric anime and manga. The eyeball also made me think it was Kitaro too.

Nice place to enjoy the day, There's lots of Soba noodle shops and restaurants around Jindaiji-temple area, also you can see the field of Soba, very beautiful place to visit. And, I really enjoyed onsen spa (hot springs) there as well.

I'm HERE FOR THE YOKAI CONTENT!!! I'm always on the hunt for Yokai books and places to visit next time I go to Japan, so this video was super helpful! I'm totally gonna check out that book. I'm currently reading a book called "Yokai Storyland" by Yumoto Koichi which is pretty cute and is fun practice. :-) My favorite Yokai is the Bakezori, the sandal one. It's so cute and silly! AND A BOTANICAL GARDEN? WAS THIS VIDEO SPECIFICALLY CATERED TO ME?? Thanks Tokyo Creative.

How easy is it to get around in Chofu? Are there English signs? Do they have English menus at the restaurants?

Every restaurant I went to in Japan, even the smaller out of the way places, had Menus in English... some of them even written by the restaurant owner in pencil. But all menus have pictures of the dishes so even a Japanese menu is easy to use as prices are in numbers you can read and you can just point to the pictures

I know about the Mangaka from a Japanese's 30 minutes drama about him and his family. The story about his story from his wife stand point and the story about the creation of his Manga character on Ge ge ge no Kitaro and Hakaba no Kitaro. Sorry I can't remember the title of this drama.
