@em chaffer Do unto others - Matthew 7:12 Spare the rod - Proverbs 13:24 The LOVE of money is the root of all evil - 1 Tim. 6:10 Some of these verses, like the spare the rod verse, you have to apply critical thinking skills to understand. The scripture is telling us that allowing our children to live a life without discipline will spoil them. You are right that "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" is not in the Bible, though.

However, MANY people follow the teachings of the Bible and I am blessed to count myself among them. I was an addict who was well on my way to jail or death but Jesus intervened in my life 22 years ago. I will forever be grateful. His mercy has no limits and His grace is more than sufficient for me. I've never had any problems with the dark.... (Until I skinned my foot on a laundry basket while getting up in the middle of the night to turn on the lights...then saw all the blood, ran to get bandages, bled through the bandages in under a second, alerted my dad and then ultimately fainted because I'm terrified of my own blood...I had a problem with the dark then...I'm turning 19 April 17th and this happened a month or two ago -.- anyway...) But I just _CAN'T_ sleep if there's even a small speck of light like the green pinprick of light that flashes on a phone when you get a notification because it's like I can see the light even with my eyes closed and it keeps me from falling asleep...meanwhile my brother (who I shared the room with for the longest time) couldn't sleep without a nightlight for _YEARS_ until my later years of middle school...and even then that was only because I _FORCED_ him to deal with it (he wasn't really afraid so much as he just didn't like it)... Pretty sure he'd still like to sleep with a nightlight and he's a freshman in high school so I'm glad we no longer share a room...plus I'm a girl so it would be weird to share a room with my nearly 15 year old brother...
