You have a good hook-up. Now, if you can keep both pullers in sync, and make sure they give you ample time to make the cut, all should go well. If they pull hard too early, the butt log will split upwards, kicking back.

I was looking forward to this one. Great advice all around, especially about letting the other guy take the load so you can engage your clutch before taking over the pull. I have seen someone burn out a clutch pulling a tree, though the cutter did a bad job as well.

I dont do tree work anymore, but one of the last we did was a huge White Oak leaning towards a camp, same type of deal you had there. Climbed it,put a 5/8 polypro in it,hooked it to the truck, rope was at 60 to 70 ft.Dumped some weight on the way up,well started to pull and cut, drive wedges, and the tree is going and doesnt the rope snap, yeah! So it did land sort of near where it was supposed to! Long story short, the owner shows up and was happy it was down and says, nice work now we can tear down that camp so we can start building the new one! We coukd of put it right through the place ,didnt matter! All that work for nothing!

I tried cutting a tree down today. Been sick for a week with some weird virus that has been going around. Lol. I spent the down time watching your videos. Probably should of waited another day or two before playing. That said there is a tree laying in my front yard waiting to be picked up. So the tree I cut down was a dead pine. Small. Other trees had grown around it some. I did the cuts and it didn’t fall. I tried to push it. It ended up sliding off the stump and was still standing. I’m the man! 😂

Was thinking of this tree fall all day yesterday/last night and this morning. Kept saying to myself that a hard lean like that and those giant branches growing out the back is super dangerous, so double pull lines makes it possible. I'm sure you're familiar with the term "performance art" Best display of large action outdoor edutainment performance art. Great camera work and great Woodman song. Buckin's harmonica solo in that song just freakin kills... When your lower body hurts it's time to work on upper body. 60 second pull up, 30 sec up, 30 sec down. Once a week Of course I'm only 135 lbs so it's easier for me than most. I'm shooting for 60 sec up, 60 sec down. Trying to get ripped and shredded at 67. Love to all the Buckin Army Stay safe Stay strong Be kind Be honest 🌲🌲🧗🌲🌲💚

Watched this with great interest! Considering the alternatives, for example, dropping some branches in the neighbor's yard; you successfully kept all the cleanup on the client's property instead. I learned some things today. Like setting the rope with the pickup. Pulling with the mini-ex. Cool stuff! I'd try this in the forest, but for the high stakes residential gigs you got the pros like Billy Ray!

You are one of the rare guys that shows difficult trees. Usually it is just the chapter one textbook tree. Almost anybody can fall that straight tree, or slightly forward leaning with an introduction into the chainsaw and a 15 minute crash course in tree cutting. But these non standard trees separate the men from the boys! ;)

Hi Billy I really enjoy your show. The positivity is very uplifting and great for everyone thank you for that! I live in north west Washington. On scary tree felling another man's happy place, I had a question. I've cut a lot of danger trees along roads around houses and power lines, heavy leaners. I've always cut my back cuts about 2in lower than my first cut so the the tree can't jump the stump, when being pulled or pushed. I realize I loose wedge lift but in this situation it's just to hold the tree. I've never had a problem using this method. I wondered what your thoughts might be on this method? Thank you for your time, and your show it's great. I just started watching and I'm very happy I did. You have a great knowledge of felling you don't see that very often, I've only seen it in the man I learned from and 1 other and they were both older men that are retired now. Thank you for your time, and sharing this awesome fun stuff with everyone. I'm going to start watching more of the different things you do besides just the cutting. Thanks again stay happy and hope maybe I can here your thoughts on my question. Thanks again, Jess.
