I have had many encounters with faeries and the fae over the years. Some more pleasant than others, and others that were downright terrifying. I will share one of my more unsettling ones now. In the late 90's I was part of a pagan collective that would walk from Brighton to Stonehenge for the summer solstice festivities, camping out along the way under the stars. One year (1998 I think it was) we spent the night at a neolithic Hill fort called Saint Catherine's hill on the outskirts of Wiltshire. This is a sacred space that has a large Hecate style Wiccan maze at the front of it which you have to cross to enter. It was a nice enough area but had a strange atmosphere to it, especially as the sun went down and we all had the feeling we were being watched by things we could not see. We were sat around drinking and playing music on guitars and drums and our small group of about 8 people were joined throughout the night by other people we did not recognise and who would appear and disappear seemingly at random. At one point our numbers seemed to increase from 8 to about 30. It was most strange. At around midnight I remember being approached by a tall blonde woman in white robes with piercing blue eyes who resembled the Arthurian queen Guinivere as portrayed in pre-Raphaelite paintings who told us that whilst they had enjoyed our company it was time for us to go before we outstayed our welcome. I told her that we would leave first thing in the morning as it was too late now which displeased her. and the mood and atmosphere quickly soured. I have never been able to explain what happened next as it was all a bit hazy, but our group suddenly snapped out of what seemed to be a collective trance state to discover all our food, bedding, tents, clothing and supplies piled up on the brazier we were using for cooking and tea making blazing away and much of it was unretrievable. Before we had chance to react to any of this we were alerted by blood curdling screams and rushed over to find their source only to find my then girlfriend Jasmine in a catatonic state complaining about being menaced by little people who 'danced horribly' (she was unable to articulate any further than that). She suffered a full blown nervous breakdown as a result and had to be sectioned and placed under heavy sedation for about 6 months. Her parents held me personally accountable and presumed that I must have done something unspeakable to her as they couldn't believe her story and we split up shortly after that. I have no idea what happened to her as we lost contact but I hope she has recovered and was able to heal from the ordeal. I have heard of similar accounts and they rarely end well, but I hope and pray this was an exception. I have other stories to tall and may share them at a later date. Loving your channel by the way. You have some great content! keep up the good work. Can't wait to hear what comes next!

Confused on how to act around fae? Just remember these rules (also applicable at clubs and parties!) : Don't give your name, best response is "I can't give you my name, please call me (insert fake name here)" Don't invite them, you won't be rid of them easily, if you can be rid of them at all. Don't take/consume any food, drink or gift they give you, it always comes with strings, deny politely "I'm grateful for your kindness, but I do not feel I can accept it". Always be polite, but NEVER say thank you for anything, or anything that could imply you owe them a favour in ANY way. Fae are master manipulators, this will be like giving them your real name: it gives them power over you. Don't go anywhere with them, or follow them anywhere - you might not return. Rowan, horseshoes, 4 leaf clovers and iron are charms of protection from the fae: if you can, carry at least one of these in places you feel are "different". Never step into a faerie ring, they're like bear traps, almost impossible to get out of, and can be seen as an invitation. The difference between Seelie and Unseelie is the difference between kitsune and nogitsune: one may be explicitly malicious but that does not make the other entirely benign. They are both tricksters, and tricksters are known to have tempers as well as an eye for any opening you may give them to make you their new plaything, trust neither. Probably more, but that's all I can really think of at the top of my head.

I think we might of had a deer woman live with us for a while. I grew up in an abusive home so all the kids would be out in the woods a lot, one day my oldest brother found a deer with a hurt leg. He had a thread in his pocket he put it around her neck and led her to our house. She stayed inside with us and never made a mess, my baby brother would crawl over to her and she would lie down on her side an let him lay on her side and "ride" on her breaths up and down, He never fell off. One day after she healed she disappeared. Everyone blamed my sister but i saw her disappear, one second she was there and it was noisy like usual the next it was so quiet, that is what caught my attention, i looked at her. She seemed to smile then was gone. It was noisy again. The next year we got put in foster care with really a nice family for three years and where adopted as teenagers. I have had a pretty good life since then, i still deal with depression and trauma but i and my family are blessed.

Loved this episode. I've had the blessing of walking along the river, through the marsh and forest and watch the deer. Some do cast a different light and look at you through different eyes. An entire episode based on Deer People would be grand, if it isn't too much trouble.

In our culture the black-tailed deer is sacred and should never be harmed, as they can turn into a beautiful man or woman. Never heard of them having blue eyes, though. They bless the water where they drink. If someone trries to hurt or kill them, they can throw medicine - and have, at that person in self-defense. That happened to a relative of mine long ago who tried to shoot one and he became very ill afterwards and had to be doctored up. Otherwise they are benevolent creatures.

I like these! Very creepy, indeed. I think the dream visitor and maybe the tan man could have been goncannah (sp) but the deer lady more closely resembles the fairy stories about fae that lure children or lonely people in and then make them servants or prisoners, or replace them with changelings. The man across the gorge and the boy in the house seem like something more sinister, though.

The 4th story: it can be a number of things as the other folk can take many different forms. All you need is to know key things how to behave around them, when u meet them. (I also just recently read about a Fae that takes the form of deer, but the name has gotten away from me). Anyway.. it's normally not a good idea to go with them and whatever you do, don't give them your name. Know that they can't lie, but they are very good at avoiding the truth and when talking to them, then be aware how you word things as you can get into trouble otherwise. They are not evil, but mischievous, and their morals are not like ours. So they might come across as malevolent, but that's simply cus we don't know their customs. Their brain is wired in a completely different way than ours. And you can carry with you something made of pure iron (although I'm sceptical if it actually works or if this myth is there due to Christianity) or hazel or Rowan stick as they have strong protective qualities. Also I forgot to add: if u find a four leaf clover, carry it as it protects you from Fae. There's many things action....but these are just a few.

I am not one who has really been a believer over the years, i have seen Ghosts, Angels and had conversations with Ghosts as well, but never Ferries. or any of the kind, over the years i have enjoyed the great outdoors, one place is in the mountains out back of where i live, the back country cabin is called Sentry Box Hut, in the past year i have re visited there after 20 years, i am 63 yrs now, when i go there i always get the feeling i am being watched and followed, i was there for an overnight camp just this weekend, this morning i was having a cup of tea before hitting the trail to go back to my vehicle, i spoke out, I KNOW YOU ARE THERE, I AM NOT AFRAID OF YOU, YOU NEED NOT FEAR ME, ARE YOU THE WOODLAND FERRY PEOPLE?, i reached back down to pick up my cup and suddenly it was like a flash of light hit my eyes, like something flew very close to my face and startled me then it went at very fast speed and vanished into the trees, then suddenly i herd my back pack fall on the floor, it was securely placed on the table as i had just finished strapping my bow saw to it, the reason i called out was because sometimes i could hear whispers when i had the feeling of being watched, they were female.

I do have information on Deer Woman from our little folklore group on FB... Deer Woman is a deer associated with fertility and love. Like many Native American animal spirits, Deer Woman is sometimes depicted in animal form, other times in human form, and sometimes as a mixture between the two. Although Deer Woman was usually considered a benign spirit who might help women conceive children, some stories portray her as a more dangerous being who might seduce men, especially adulterous or promiscuous men, and either lead them to their deaths or leave them to pine away from lovesickness. Among contemporary Native American people, Deer Woman often plays a "bogeyman" sort of role, said to trample incautious people to death, especially girl-crazy young men or disobedient children. Some people say that this more violent version of Deer Woman is actually a human woman who either transformed into a deer after being raped, or was brought back to life by the original Deer Woman spirit after being murdered. Others say she is the same old Deer Woman, and just has a few good reasons to be in a worse mood these days! Other versions say Deer Woman is a shape-shifting spirit who often takes the form of a young woman except that her feet are hooved like those of a deer and her brown deer eyes. Sometimes, Deer Woman is described as having the upper half of a human women and the lower half of a deer. As a shape-shifter, Deer Woman can also appear as an old woman or a deer. In the legends surrounding Deer Woman, she is often just off the trail or behind a bush, calling men over to her, particularly unfaithful or promiscuous men. It is frequently too late, when men are enchanted and drawn to her, that they notice she isn’t all she seems and find themselves trampled to death beneath her hooves. A more “luckier” man might find himself pining away, longing for a “lost love.” In the more malign interpretations of Deer Woman, she is often presented as a bogeyman, seducing men before she kills them. More violent versions of Deer Woman’s story say she was a human woman transformed into a deer after being raped or she was brought back to life by the original Deer Woman spirit after being murdered. Further stories say it is the still the original Deer Woman, she has just changed her cause and is even more vengeful. She is sometimes seen as a form of succubus or vampire, draining her victims of their life force. The Deer Woman legends certainly do seem to hold a certain familiarity to the Irish stories of the Fae, who have sex with a mortal man and who is then never satisfied with a human lover. In the Lakota versions of Deer Woman, she doesn’t kill men, instead she takes their soul so that he will be lost for the rest of his life. As to the women, Deer Woman spirits them away so that they are never seen again. In these, stories, Deer Woman is described as a black-tailed deer. Other stories surrounding Deer Woman, describe seeing her as sign of warning or a time of personal transformation. She is very fond of dancing and has been known to join in on communal dances; leaving when the drumming stops. More benign interpretations of Deer Woman’s myth connect her to fertility and love who help women during childbirth. Banishing Deer Woman: According to Ojibwe traditions, Deer Woman can be banished by the use of tobacco smoke, prayers and chanting. Deer Woman’s spell or enchantment can also be broken by looking at her feet. Once Deer Woman realizes she has been found out, she runs away.

If you tell your dream then you'll never have it again. So I don't tell of any dream I enjoy.

Under glistening light and beyond the trees, A beautiful smile can bring anyone to the knee, Eyes are the windows to the soul, Skin so fair and hair black as coal, Whispers along the wind far and near, Beware poison whispers that takes you away from here, Beauty sways heart and mind, Those given in leave this world behind

It is good that you enjoy poetry! Used to make time to write a little of it🕊☘💖Keep writing. It colours your world with possibilities of what could be if we look around us for the mystery in nature.

Have you thought about doing an Irish Fairy story set in Ireland for St.Patricks Day? I'm proud of Scot-Irish ancestral roots and would love to hear more stories from Celtic locations @scaryfairygodmother :) Listening to this video it has me considering doing a fairy inspired movie poster for a movie poster project recently assigned to me at university. I'm a Graphic Design major trying to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. As a young kiddo up until now I've loved learning about my Celtic heritage and the magical world there. Really liked the illustrations of the Spiderwhick Chronicles books I'd check out from a school library as a young kid. By the way, I'm really excited about your new website! Especially the possible forum for sharing stories and artwork. May share my artwork if it's fairy related and any design ideas I think may work for future items you could possibly sell on your site. Really like the aesthetic of your website and overall general theme of your KZbin channel. I'm new at the world of graphic design, but would be more than happy to try helping with any creative design feedback you may need! Have a great day!

You are not alone. So don't be bothered by people who don't know. Most fairy tales are about small sprites . Tell your stories, you may help someone
