The septic tank one is even stranger than stated here. The dead man was involved in local politics and had accused a popular politician of corruption (apparently the accusations did carry some weight). The man had been harassed/threatened as a result and there was some speculation that the unsettling phone calls to the school teacher were due to them targeting friends and family as well (I think his father had received some calls as well but I can't remember for sure). Then suddenly he ends up dead in a horrible way that paints him as a despicable person, getting him out of the way and destroying his reputation... It's interesting. The lack of injury means he couldn't have been shoved into the pipe, but the placement of his neatly folded shirt where he couldn't have put it means someone else was involved.

Some notes about the case of Naoyuki being found in the septic tank: As briefly mentioned, Naoyuki was friends with the woman and knew she would NOT be there during the time he would have died. I'm sorry, but I don't think he would have gone in there knowing he wouldn't see what he "wanted." Naoyuki had a public falling out with a politician he had supported when it came out the politician was corrupt. I don't remember all the details, but very sus. Lazy Masquerade and KyotoRobato both have very good videos about the case, highly recommended.

I’m sticking by my theory that somebody had it out for him and put him in there (who and how? Idk) knowing that it would seem that he’d died spying on her. he probably tried to escape but after that proved impossible he moved under the toilet to try and call for help but eventually started to suffer hypothermia removing his shirt and laying down where he was, eventually dying to said hypothermia.
@the_Overture2 жыл бұрын
@@Kilo-sz4ch While I agree that this was definitely a set-up, I have a few more points to add. -He was found clutching his shirt, with his knees up against his chest. -While I haven't seen the body, it sounds like he was still partially outside the pipe, with his leg still visible in the septic tank. -He would've had to climb into the septic tank, fold up his shirt, curl up WHILE clutching the shirt, and shove himself into the impossibly tight squeeze. -You would have to use your hands/feet to even get inside a pipe. There was zero room to curl up after, at least not without injuries (or messing up his folded shirt) It just doesn't make sense. Someone would've had to shove him in there. He was probably dead well before he ever entered the pipe.

@blerst70662 жыл бұрын
I watched a documentary on the septic tank incident and I first thought that the guy was just a pervert. Then I realized that the way the pipe bends makes it physically impossible for someone to go inside without external help. Also, the woman saw the man's shoe, NOT his face through the toilet. The structure made it impossible to peep up even if one somehow made it in. The shoe was for some reason placed above his head. Plus, other evidence found all over town led many people to suspect that he might've been a victim of a crime.

I've lived in Darwin for a time, we are told that if you're near the waters edge it's likely a croc can see you even if you can't see them. Sometimes they came a bit further inland. People literally go stand in the water at a particular crossing that is known to be croc infested for the sake of fishing, the Darwin award ironically should go to a lot of people who live there 😅 If anyone gets the chance to hit up Crocosaurus Cove, definitely do that! See those bad boys up close through many inches thick of Perspex and you really REALLY can't help but respect them as hardcore apex predators.

From what I remember it wasnt clear what Jamesons intentions really were. Once the cannibal story made its way back to Britain there was a big backlash towards the family and they tried to make it seem like he was unaware they actually would kill a girl for some handkerchieves. Some think he was well aware and wanted to witness it out of pure morbid curiosity. He made rough sketches of the incident while it was unfolding. I seem to remember that he noted how the girl was completely silent during the whole ordeal and showed very little emotion or fear. I thought she was tied to a tree and gutted before she was stabbed in the chest as well. Either way, a very odd story.

I agree. He was fully aware of what the fate of the girl would be. If he was so shocked about it all he wouldn't have sat there doing sketches of the murder. If he was normal he wouldn't have even wanted to watch. But sketches and notes? Sicko.

I hadn’t figured everything out yet so the tarp I had wasn't big enough, and I was getting wet and didn't have much to keep me warm But this helped distract me from the pain of that first night alone in the woods in a tent. And it made everything feel less terrible, because people had survived much worse. I'm still living in the tent, but things are more figured out, I can stay (mostly) dry and warmish. And hopefully in the next week I'll be out of this But again, thank you. Really saved me from losing my mind that first night. You have a loyal viewer

You may not see them but they'll surely see you. Stay safe, especially close to water. I've not dealt with crocs- i live in alligator territory but I know alligators can jump out of water quite a bit higher than you would think, especially for their size. They will also hang out in shallow water along the bank where the water is muddy or cloudy and leap out and grab whatever is standing near the edge. Alligators get wild pigs that way and it's also how one grabbed that 2 year old at Disney world several years ago. They weren't in the water, just standing at the water's edge.

I'll never forget this story about a man, from a little known religious group in Canada, who was known to be depressed. They asked about his strange suicide several times. So the story goes that he actually tried to call one of the commune ministers one, and that minister said he didn't have time that night... I got the impression from the way they spoke that that man's mental health was burdensome. So the next day, his body is found sitting against a fence, gunshot to the head. But what never sat right with the guys talking about it (who had long since left the cult), was that the rifle that guy had supposedly shot himself with was propped up against the fence beside him. Not like it had slipped out of his hands and by chance landed upright. The way they explained, having seen it with their own eyes, was that his hands were in his lap and there was a space in between his body and where the gun was propped up. They think he must have passed out against the fence and someone came and shot him. It was ruled as a suicide. Lots of shady stuff within that cult-- like supposed warehouses of "banned" things like TVs. But a few of the guys who left said they saw the warehouse and it was practically empty and they'd talk about that as well from time to time "someone made money off that and where did the money go?" Also, when the members leave, they're given a measly sum of money. Greed runs that cult, plain and simple.

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

A small correction: Scandinavian Vikings landed in Africa before the year 1000. There have been archaeological findings of Scandinavian Rune-writing in the deserts of Arabia dating back to that time. Their presence certainly was not large, but they blended in and adapted to the desert after their vast journey. Hastein, a Viking chieftain, led a large group of Vikings to the shores of Africa in the year 859 c.e, after raiding some Mediterranean villages and cities. So technically, Europeans landed in Africa many hundreds of years prior to the 15th century. Excellent work as always though. By the way, something interesting to dig into. Many old Polynesian legends tell of a red haired, white skinned people who arrived on Easter Island long ago. One of them is from the traditional lore of the Waitaha tribe of New Zealand, in which, 67 generations ago, there were three peoples with different colored skin and different traditions who lived and mixed peacefully on Easter Island.

Crocodiles were almost wiped out in Australia by the 1970s due to hunting (around 3000 according to the Guardian). They are now protected and their population has increased. Even those who have had family members killed by crocs, are public in their protesting of discussions against crocodile culling (like the shark culling discussions in Australia every year). They are absolutely stunning creatures and as close to the dinosaur that we can see nowadays (very distantly related of course).

It has always been my uneducated opinion that crocodiles and alligators are the only living "dinosaurs" left in the world.

Birds ARE dinosaurs. Crocodiles aren't closely related to dinosaurs at all. Dinosaurs walked on 2 legs, while crocodiles were the same millions of years ago

I live in the Australian "outback" (depends who you ask on what is/isn't the outback). No crocs here tho. Couple of great whites photographed/footage in the gulf recently tho. One right next to a kayakers foot 😬 no one is swimming for a while.

1st time hearing 1st story:NO!! Oh man, it really shows why relying on other humans just even being around near us has been such a cornerstone of our evolution for so long; if anyone had known, had been closer, hadn't been gone so long, if only, if only, the woodpecker sighs This iteration 1st story: ha and his fishing pole was prably hanging in the air for a sec, being held by a smokecloud silhouette, oh man I have to make this a one-panel comic ha one sec

I grew up swimming in Florida lakes/ponds every weekend. It depends on the species, but generally crocodilians are completely misunderstood by people who have never interacted with them. They are extremely reclusive and do not like being near people plus they are nocturnal and live/hang around areas that humans do not like to go such as tall weeds along lakeshores and swamps. So unless you're swimming in tall weeds at night you are not in any serious danger. But if you were to be attacked do not assume that you are safe on land. Most crocodilians can run incredibly fast on land and your only chance of getting away is to zig zag around obstacles as much as possible (they can't turn well while running full speed) or climb a tree. With all of this said Salt water crocodiles found in and around Australia are the largest and most dangerous species in the world. They can reach over 20ft in length, swim in the open ocean, and actually will hunt humans. They are basically the Polar bear of crocodilians.

I'm very confused about the order of videos in this series. This is #8, but #13 came out on 10/29. The numbers and dates are as follows: #1: 4/1 #2: 9/14 #3: 9/21 #4: 9/28 #5: 10/5 #6: 10/19 #7: 11/2 #8: 11/9 #9: Doesn't seem to exist #10: Also cannot find #11: 9/10 #12: 10/1 #13: 10/29 What's up with that? I'm not being critical - I love these compilations regardless of their order! I'm just painfully curious...🤔
