Welcome Back! This is Matt and I love turning trash into CASH. It is Nacho Stuff but that doesnt mean someones trash can't equal cash. You see, many people have abandoned all kinds of random treasures and toss them into the trash. We take these lost valuables and figure out a way to make a buck from them. Sometimes it through resell, other times we might just scrap it. Either way, we are turning free stuff into cash. I prefer the curbside scene but occasionally find myself in a dumpster or two. Join me as I try to turn nothing into something.
I mostly consider myself a scrapper or repurposer of things that people have decided to discard. Some call it picking while others consider it a true treasure hunt. But at the end of the day, like most scrappers, I am trying to reduce our waste while lining my pockets a little in the process. Each piece of scrap metal, item of curbside treasure or piece of dumpster loot means one less piece going into our landfills and that makes me happy. You can fix the batteries that open on top dump out water inside put clean water in shake up pour out three times make sure you get out all junk off bottom then fill with distilled water put caps back on then charge good as new

It's the port situation lot less backed up up in new york so the scrap yards can ship there products also shippers don't want full containers they want empty to take to other country's bec of shortage

I picked up a grill just like that. But much more rusted out. Guy said it was 20 years old. As bad as it was. It still had some weight.

It was in great shape until you opened it. It had a big hole in the bottom where it had rusted through. I suppose it could be patched and continued to be used but that is above my skill set. So to the yard it went.

I got an idea for you all them cords that you cut Put a tape measure out bout measure every length of cable or cable or electric card should let you have and then one of these months put that on there and see if anyone can guess how many feet you have in cords in 1 day or 2 days or 3 or even a week or the whole month now that's a challenge right there

My scrap yard has a sign that says absolutely no televisions. So I don't grab those. I Just grab the cords.

Mine does too. You might want to ask. It might be tube TVs. But to honest - most yards do not take them. I would not let a sign determine your fate though. Signs get put up and forgotten about. The one at my yard says bo TVs, No Vacuums and something else that they always take. Never hurts to ask.
