Yesterday someone mentioned Steven Curtis Chapman, and all of a sudden I heard this song in my head, just like when I was 11 and hearing it on my tape player. I thought of the song again this morning, and reread the lyrics, and I realize now that maybe this song has always (without my realizing it) been formative in my understanding of what it means to follow God... That it shouldn't be a life of boring religion and rule following, but the greatest adventure of a lifetime.... That following God will push me outside my comfort zone, be fun, and require a great deal of trust in the one leading and guiding me as I step outside the safety net of the known and planned for. Amen! Thanks Steven. ♥️

I can't wait!!!✝️🔯I'm a new christian. A preacher came to a shelter I'm in & told me how much Jesus loved me not long ago. I'd planned on taking my life that night because I felt that unloved & worthless that I felt that I was better off dead than here in this world. When he told me that Jesus loved me I said "No he doesn't! Nobody loves me!" He reached out for my right hand & said "Wrong he does love you!" I think he saw the hurt in my eyes from years of being bullied & abused & he said "Trust me Jesus does love you!" When he asked me this question "Where will you be if you died right now?" I said "Who cares?? Nobody that's who! I'm going to hell. Why should I care about that?" He said "In hell you're all alone for ever. There's no love in hell at all. Will you give Jesus a chance?" I looked up with tears filling my eyes & I said "Yes! I will." He prayed with me that morning after the the church service had ended 2 weeks ago. He came back almost a week ago & gave me a blue king James bible. I said "I can't take it from you. I have no way to pay you back." He said "Take it it's yours. You don't owe me a thing. Just read it. Know this that I love you too." I have waited all my life to hear those words that somebody loved me & I finally got to hear it for the 1st time in my life! I didn't have a dad growing up. My mom severely abused me physically till I was put in foster care at 12 years old. I attempted suicide for the 1st time when I was almost 13 years old by running out in traffic on the Seattle Washington freeway. Then a few years later I tried again after I had been raped & not knowing at the time I was carrying my 1st baby. A christian Dr said "I know that you're hurting right now but it will get better." For many years I've struggled with post traumatic stress disorder due to the abuse from my mom & many others hands & now I'm learning it's okay to cry & be angry but don't sin. A few still see me as a fake christian because I openly renounced Jesus as God in front of everybody in the shelter I'm in when I 1st came to Nicholasville Kentucky on 2-20-23. When that preacher showed me Jesus that morning & then gave me a blue king James bible I'm now seeing how much Jesus does love me broken & abused. I was born with a lot of serious medical issues & the Dr said to my grandma "Prepare for a funeral for her. She won't live for very long. I'm sorry." My grandma said "My grand-girl will live! Jesus is with her!" I'd had 5 strokes before I was born & 5 strokes after I was born. The Dr said "If she lives she'll be deaf & crippled & blind. Why would you want her?!" She said "You watch Jesus is in control & he will be with her!" When that Dr saw me for the last time as a toddler he shook his head. Years later my grandma took me in to her home & she started raising me as if I was her own child. I was 10 years old at the time. When my mom came back for me I screamed "No don't let her take me from you grandma!!! I want to stay here! She doesn't want me!" My grandma was my 1st physical therapist who worked hard on teaching me to walk & keeping my muscles in my legs & arms from deteriorating to nothing in the 1st years of my life. When I was hit by a truck in 1982 I had no physical therapist to help me to learn to walk again. I had to learn to walk on my own with no help at all. Today I hobble on a cane & I'm now almost 56 years old. Thank you Jesus for my grandma & grandpa who loved me like you do! Just because I hobble on a cane today I'm now a happy almost 56 year old lady. Yesterday I met a nice lady named Jo & she said she is going to help me with finding housing in Pineville Kentucky. Thank you Jesus! Thank you Jesus for this song. I can't wait to see Jesus!

Receiving the love of God in your own heart so others can see and know that God has that same love for them too.
