Tony Scott deserved an Oscar for this flick and the flick should have got the recognition it deserved from critics.

The Scott brothers were in different ways both incredible. Ridley’s images were and still are, rich, indelible and convey so much information. Tony’s talent’s were in the relationship between shots. Both - cinematic geniuses. So much looking forward to Ridley’s Napoleon, but also, so much miss Tony’s incredible gifts, beautiful conveyed in this scene.

The ending of this film is one of the most heart wrenching endings ever in movie history & i don't care who you are this movie will pull on your heart strings. The end track Una Palabra is such a beautiful choice too. Man on Fire is a masterpiece, from the writing, directing & esp the acting. Its my favorite Tony Scott movie. R.I.P Tony & thankyou 🙏

Tony Scott will go down as one of my all time favorite directors. With everything from Crimson Tide and Enemy of the State to Deja Vu and (my personal favorite) Unstoppable. But I’m glad you did the video to take a look at Man on Fire, which I think is one of his lesser talked about films.

I had the opportunity to talk to Tony while he was waiting to pick up his car at a Mercedes dealership. I asked him what his favorite film was and he said "Probably Man on Fire."

Thank you for your reverence and profound attention to detail. I went to USC Cinema for Critical Studies, and you pointed out several things I did not catch the first time I saw Man on Fire. The film is an underrated gem. The love of humanity, taking its time to develop Creasy and Pita’s relationship, extending a full character arc across the first 45 minutes. Brilliant writing, acting, and directing.

More than a study or an analysis, it is a simple exposition of a scene, and also the sublime Claire de Lune is superfluous.

This way of filming kept me and my daughter nailed to our seats. It was so new to us but we had trouble breathing. I'll never forget that. We said : omg this is the most captivating and original filming we've seen. Excellent!!!!!!

Man on Fire is Tony Scotts best movie & best kidnapping movie. Only High & Low comes close. I loved the Tony & Denzel collaboration. Wish he was still here. True Romance was a Dream collaboration, Tony & Tarantino. I wonder what Tony would've done on Top Gun 2. I remember Tom wanted him to Direct since he was the Director of the 1st one.

Original?? Please, this kidnaapping sequence is almost shot-by-shot rehash-directing-wise- of one of the most famous moments in CITY OF GOD..during the shooting of this movie , Tony was seen many times on the set carrying dvds of the Brazilian movie and maade sure to hite that film´s DP as one of this film´s caamera operaator. I know that basically everything hs been done nowadays but giving credit where credit is due will do no harm, au the contraire

while tony did love city of god, i can say, that i cut this actual sequence (as well as the car torture scene) and at no time did i ever use city of god as a reference- nor have i seen that film

Great movie. Editing is horrendous though and makes the experience borderline unwatchable. The constant quick cuts and "stylized" flickering of the screen are like trying to watch a good movie while a strobe light is blasting directly in your face. Unnecessary. The movie and shots can speak for themselves.
@skipchaisson77482 ай бұрын
to each his own, it was meant to convey creasy's inner struggle and how he sees the world, but i respect your opinion, thank you for viewing the film
