In an already awesome movie, these scenes where they mess with 'Baby' drive me nuts. It's kinda a cardinal sin of crime to screw with your getaway driver. If he/she has the background and proven skill, that's all they need for group success. Otherwise, you can accidentally become an unneeded distraction that can hurt the job (as the character 'Bats' does later on in the movie)... Or worse (as the movie reaches the finale) the driver turns on you out of revenge or desperation bringing the whole operation and group to its knees/death.

My guess is that the glasses were pulled off of his face by an invisible wire, with Bernthal actually doing the "slap" further away from Elgort's face than you realise, with clever camera trickery making it appear as if his hand was closer. But maybe.....he misjudged it on one take and actually brushed (or even slapped) his face! It's a pity that there isn't a blooper reel that we can watch lol There was a funny blooper for Star Trek (2009) where Kirk has an automatic sliding door shut in his face, and in one blooper it actually did hit him in the face as it slid across XD
