@SkyScourgeGod Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, big time. In fact, this wasn't even the first sign. It all started at the range where Street beat TJ after Hondo put money on Street to beat him. Then it happened again during sniper training when Street beat TJ during a round of "sniper poker". Then of course, there's this scene where TJ is the only one to get shot during the test. After this TJ is not really interacting with the team much, not even during the celebration of their graduation. All of these were subtle clues of TJ's fall from grace made more meaningful when you remember that TJ was pretty confident and full of himself before Street kept beating him.

This is how you do a strong female character. They had an advantage because she was female - not because she was some manly chick with manly characteristics, but because she had something none of them had entirely due to her sex: size and body shape. Movies try too often to make women match men to convince you they’re strong, thereby nearly affirming that feminine traits are weak. This style confirms the utilitarian concept of men and women, and how we both have something to offer in all sorts of scenarios. Kudos.

@danielhaire6677 Жыл бұрын
I think you underestimate the capability of a .50 BFG rifle round like those used in the M2 or a McMillan TAC-50. Those were initially designed to destroy the engine blocks of armored vehicles. It would easily destroy the windshields. Now a .50 AE round like those used in Desert Eagles would be a different story. Now the reinforced windshields would definitely stop a round or two from an M1911 chambered in either .45 ACP or 9x19mm.

Loved this movie. It's cheesy action fun and hails from a time when we weren't afraid of making good cops the good guys in movies and media! Feels like this movie wouldn't be made today. The cast is top tier as well which manages to make the corny writing just fun and not cringe. I struggled to watch the new SWAT tv show because the acting is basic and the dialogue even more stilted. Plus a movie gives an unbelievable one-off situation which I can manage but an entire show has crazy scenarios in every episode and it feels overdramatic.

They would most likely be using a lighter load to launch the hook since you aren't looking for lethality in that situation. I haven't been able to find anything on sound permanence through the cabin, but I'd expect the cabin of an airplane to be quite insulated from external noise to combat the sound of the engines as well as air resistance during normal operation. I know it's only a part of the situation as well, but the targets onboard have ear protection on which would hamper their hearing. This is all speculation on my part.

Can anyone else explain the scene where they are pulling the guy over the plane? I never understood how this would work. 1) How does he signal to the guys on the ground from pulling once he is on top? I'd fear they'd pull one too many times and he'd fall of the other side. 2) Why isn't he tied to a cable on the behind him when he's going up? I question how they ended up getting the entire rope around the plane without him bringing up another rope behind him.

It would instantly turn into a violent situation with terrorists screaming over the radio for swat to back off or hostages would die and they would be grabbing human shields.
