Naturally they could not actually get access to film the scene on the Mexico --> INTO ---> US side of the Puente. The bridge is heavily used and shutting entry down into the U.S. would have backed up traffic and logistics terribly for Juarez/Mexico which heavily relies on the Bridge entrance they used(there are 2 Bridges in the El Paso/Juarez border---one of which is in the El Paso downtown area that gets the most foot traffic, and the Bridge they used in the film is used for semi-trucks(which you can see in the overhead shot) and more real traffic. So, when they show 2:10 the overhead shot of the Bridge with all the cars as in the film the plot point is that they are making their way back to the U.S., they actually staged the scene with them driving on the U.S.---> INTO ----> MEXICO side of the bridge, and they got cars backed up going into Mexico to make it look how the U.S. customs lines usually appear. If you want you can Google Map it, Go to El Paso, you're looking for the two Puente International, the one farther EAST is the one in the film. Look for the Bronze Bird statue seen at 2:10
