Ed Davey deserves to be regularly singled out for the things he did when in office. He enabled the sell off of Royal Mail, which is crime enough. But then he also completely failed to notice the massive scandal going on right under his nose at the Post Office. It was his job to oversee mail services, and he was asleep on the job. He's entirely proven beyond a shadow of doubt that he is not fit for public office. At best he's just completely incompetent.

@@custa73burner I will say this. If the Conservatives had done 60 lost seats worse and if the Liberal Democrats had done some 35 seats better. I would have called for Sir Ed Davey to stand down as Liberal Democrat leader. Unfortunately, things are still too precarious. We don't know who is going to be the leader of the Conservatives and Reform UK have caused considerable issues of complications! Many of their candidates fell strong seconds or firm thirds in many of the constituencies - and even I am uncertain of that. So much so. That in instances such as this - I have little choice but - for now - to defend Sir Ed Davey! Owing to the precariously difficult situation. I've seen a sea change that has left me in very uncomfortable territory. I will wait until the end of November of this year. I do believe that there is going to be a large swathe of defections from the Conservative Party - some will go towards Reform UK, others either to the Labour, Liberal Democrat and Green Parties! Most I suspect will end up with the Liberal Democrats and that'll alter things considerably! But when it does! I will call for Ed Davey to stand down! For now I have to wait and see!

Sunak knowingly and blatantly lied repeatedly during the election. He was the most abusive politician after Farage by constantly cutting off people who expressed a different view. He's had a political kick in the goolies, that is normally a great humbler. As for Farage he wasn't as obnoxious as expected. But he will get back to his worst. Sunak attended parties during lockdown. He instigated eat out to help out without discussing the impact with the scientists but knowing that it wouldn't be good. He left the D-Day celebrations early. He broke the ministerial code on several occasions, particularly by quoting incorrect statistics/data. He supported some disgusting statements and actions by his ministers, such as painting over murals in children's detention centres or 'homelessness is a way of life,' and removing homeless peoples' tents. So he may have some humility now but he showed little leadership or humanity whilst Chancellor or PM. He may be sorry for losing so many Tory MPs, but the country has shown that it's glad. So he, Hunt, along with the rest of the Tory right wing fascists need to be dispensed with out of UK politics forever.

Jeremy Hunt, Sunak, they’re all deplorable. I have no time for any of those Tories after 14 years of destroying the safety net via Austerity, Brexit, proroguing Parliament, lockdown parties, PPE lane scandal, ‘pile the bodies high’, etc., etc.. They can all go jump. As for ‘some are more equal than others’??? Really? Quoting George Orwell? A bit of a diss there, under the guise of a genteel haw haw. Orwell was writing about all forms of totalitarianism- left or right. At least Sunak acknowledged Abbott with a genuine tone. I wonder if the like will ever understand that Tories have always harboured amongst their ranks, those who don’t like brown people. Ferengi is self-involved, puffed up with self- importance. I suspect that what we saw today was the real Rishi Sunak, rather than a person who beholden to the far-right members of his own party. I remain convinced that he pushed a lot of policies that he himself didn't believe in.

Mind Farage doesn't only get paid by British taxpayers as an MP of HoC, he's receiving a pension as an MEP via the Brexit deal. As a German I strongly hope that he doesn't get money from any other member country's contributions.

Farage mocks others but would be no good in the driving seat. He attracts people who are similar to Trump supporters ,without a clue what he stands for. Unfortunately Sunak has taken the brunt after taking over from the worst PMs in history,Truss and Johnson.

I appreciated Sunak's speech, and can't help that Sunak was possibly directing his speech at F/Garage as at anybody else. Trying to install a sense of humility and responsibility, however, will go completely over his head. Isn't it interesting though that you decide to give Farage a voice with only 5 seats and not the Lib/Dems. Both made mistakes, but you still gave Reform a voice and not the Lib Dems. Farage didn't fall: he got your attention and got his face on your video. Masterful., I'd say.

Jeremy Hunt can turn on the superficial "charm" like many politicians, but it is an act as with most people in the public eye. Hunt has lied repeatedly about many economic issues in his time as Treasurer. Sunak lied countless times in Parliament and in interviews. One only has to think of the entertainment industry, as just one example, where the participants invariably create a persona which they maintain in the public for the public, but their true selves are rarely, if ever, revealed. The blame is with the public being so gullible and unable to distinguish between the presenter and the reality. Consider the various soap operas on TV where a surprisingly high number of people begin to consider the performers as real people. People are easily drawn into a fantasy world of film stars, TV stars, rock bands, etc. That is how cults start, as with Farage, Trump, Manson, Heaven's Gate, Branch Davidians, Children of God, Peoples Temple, etc.

Nope, let him scream into the void. The swivel eyes loon is defecating all over the commons and Nigel couldn't make half decent speech if his life depended on it, all he did was mouth his usual bile that only people with intellectual capacity of a box of cat litter would find clever or inspiring. Give horse face his bag of oats and tell him to STFU the actual MP's are trying to work.

The problem with Hunt is that he is the architect of what now is the NHS. He has acknowledged that he failed to plan and implement and train , particularly regarding staffing levels . This was a deliberate act . The state of the NHS and weaknesses in the system when covid struck resulted in devastating mortality figures. The irony is that as the Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee he warned , and I quote " A&Es , Ambulances, General Practice and social Care are in serious peril across the country" . I don't believe that he should be rewarded with any form of recognition . Although he became Chancellor.

Professor - I am already saddened by Hunt's announcement that he won't be standing as the Conservative Party leader - and it was also the sadness that Sunak will not be permanent in the roll as leader of the Opposition. He had the chance to straighten out things in the Conservative Party, and at the time, in his government! As well! I still see some difficult times ahead and not easy for all in the different future. As Farage has proving to that point! Just proves how much he's a pillock!
