So a great Metro system for some reasons : Everything is CLEAN and I didn't see graffiti anywhere Great looking for all Metro stock, especially the Metropolis 💖 (a product of my country 🇨🇵😅) Nice design for the stations The fact that Budapest M1 line is probably the oldest in the world... (anyone before 1896 ?) And a special bonus for the "refurbishment" of Metrovagonmash stock, looks great for an "old" stock So well done Budapest 👏 you can be proud of your Metro 👍

it has one big downside: too small , compared to the size and population of the city

But as by simple underground is 2nd in the Europe - after London -, and 3rd in the world - after London and New York-.

@@benedekhalda-kiss9737 Alfred Ely Beach built the first demonstration for an underground transit system in New York City in 1869 and opened it in February 1870. His Beach Pneumatic Transit only extended 312 feet (95 m) under Broadway in Lower Manhattan operating from Warren Street to Murray Street and exhibited his idea for an atmospheric railway as a subway.

@@istvanmarott6494 I wouldn't nescesarrily count that as a subway as it was a demonstration and it closed just 3 years later

Well the Metrovagonmash trains weren't really refurbished but actually built from scratch.

Didn't it also involve a big corruption scandal regarding Metrowagonmash? I remember it being talked back in 2016.

@@RockstarRomaniayeah. The whole purchase of the new trains was a big corruption scandal on its own, as it would have been not only cheaper but would have also given us better quality trains if we hadn’t bought it from the Russians, but of course, our government had to buy it from an eastern dictatorship, as it does with everything.
