Well a lot of people probably use it for look. If youre using your car for high speeding racing (not that phoney straight line “racing”) these will be effective. You ever go fast on a corner in a more normal car and it pushes all the weight toward one side? Strut bars as well as performance sways bars will be the ones handling all of that force and even the car out so that your literally gliding on a turn going 60-70mph or even more when you should be going 30-40

Is it true that solid (one-piece) strut bars offer more stability than 3 piece?
@JCMediaYT3 жыл бұрын
depends on how well built it is, quality 3 piece strut bars can be as good as one piece but also be easier to install
@quintonturner69672 жыл бұрын
A one piece strut bar will be much stronger as there are no pivot points. Check out USR strut bars for comparison. They are also made from hollowed steel
@LT-jc4qb2 жыл бұрын
The debate of the century, but its hard to say 100%. You see solid bars on dedicated track vehicles where the roads are flat and smooth as glass. Look at Nascar and everything is solid because there's no real issues of uneven roads. Look at the modern wrc cars like subaru and they're running 3 pieces. Bottom line, the bars help keep the front chasis in line and tires planted on the road during turns. On the streets I would probably run and be very happy with 3pc...but people also like to believe hard-core solid is best..because hard-core.

Mostly, how much tightening torque in foot pounds is needed to fasten the bar?

they don't have to be on very tight, around 14 foot pounds should be plenty. overtorquing will easily snap the bolts

What material is best for strut bar? Steel, aluminum, alloy, titanium, or cf?
@LT-jc4qb2 жыл бұрын
Depends on quality of material and thickness (some lesser material will need more to equal higher material). If money isn't an option, then I guess titanium or CF it is for you...but consider design too.
@Πέτρος-μ3υ Жыл бұрын
Any material strong enough to transfer the forces to the opposite side, but quality bars usually snap by design if something hits you from the side.

@@Nate-yr1jy I’d align after every new tire change unless old ones are unevenly worn like camber wear or toe out. If it drives in a straight line on a flat road with your hands off the steering wheel you likely won’t need an alignment. Some cases you don’t know if it needs an alignment until after road testing

The joint in the STI strut bar is NOT to make it easier to install; it's to allow some flex that the engineers determined would be stiff enough but also flexible enough to allow some flexing, as no flex can lead to car hydroplaning and other problems that can lead to an destabilizing the car --> accident.
