Your onboard videos were probably one of the first influences on me getting interested in riding some 3 years ago, so I have to thank you for essentially getting me into the hobby. Also, thanks a lot for answering my question (the one about improving cornering technique). Will definitely take your advice on being patient with it. Shouldn't be an issue as I had to wait for two years to get my first bike lol Better to take it slow then push things too far, too soon. I'll also chip in as someone who has struggled, and still do, with insecurities and mental health. It really is mostly about learning how to best cope with those negative emotions and thoughts. Also wholeheartedly agree with you that riding is an escape rather than a solution. Its really important to deal with those issues through terapy or other means rather than bring them into an activity that is as inherrently dangerous as riding a motorcycle.

There were a lot of things that resonated with me in this video, greatly appreciate the honesty. I've been riding for around 7 years, and I also realized that riding fast on the street comes down to risk, no matter how good my turning or braking technique gets, a choice must be made. I choose to be able to ride another day! Thanks again, ride safe!

Great video dude. I love your advice on just being patient. I started riding street bikes later in life and thought my speed demon days were over, thus I my riding was pretty tame the first year. I commute every day to work and I’ve started noticing how I keep driving faster and doing techniques I never thought I would do. I was surprised by how much I gained by just riding at my own pace. That way, I always feel confident and relaxed, which seems like the best way to improve (since failing/crashing is not an option on the street).

Hey Schaaf, just wanted to leave a little message. Some things you mention about growing up really resonate with me, and sound very familiar. I've been left with scars because of poor parenting, and am struggling with similar feeling to yours it sounds like. Therapy helps to an extent, but I think that you just got to find a way to cope with it yourself, as you surely know (which I've yet to find). You've been the one to hype me up on getting a biking license about 8 years ago now, which I then went to get. I've always been amazed of the roads you ride, and the adventures you seem to take. My favorite video of yours is the RIDE INTO PARADISE video, I've watched it so many times, and still today it'll make my jaw drop, because no way that the Netherlands (where i reside) looks nearly as beautiful as the places you visit in that video. I didn't ride further than an hour away from my home on a bike, ever, so i've never experienced the trips you seem to take. I've stopped riding motorcycles for about 5 years now due to mental and slight physical problems (which eleviate the mental problems), but like you, I want to be the guy that gets out and undertakes cool stuff, goes out to explore, take adventures, and enjoy life. Hence the reason why I'm about to pick up my new bike, purchase riding gear, and go out for adventures, as I'm tired of sitting idly by behind my computer screen instead of undertaking fun challenges. Sorry for my rambling, but in a way i kinda look up to you, although this might sound funny to you. You're a cool guy, make very cool and well put together videos, and are very genuine, in the sense that you speak out what you think, instead of hiding it, which i the easier but cheap option. Never stop pushing through buddy, neither will I !

Thanks a lot mate. Indeed it is about learning to cope instead of believing it will at some point "fade away". Still a long journey ahead!! My shirt still looks amazing considering i got it when you first got them in stock all those years ago! It’s a pity about the little Honda but that’s life. I had to sell my CB 500 when my spine got bad enough to stop me riding, i should have kept it and thought about a sidecar or something so I didn’t fall over when i came to a stop. Too late now as I don’t have enough money to buy a sidecar let alone a bike to fix it on, C’est La Vie. A crash is a very personal thing, you don’t have to talk about it if you feel happier that way. Keep it shiny side up and stay safe my friend. 😊👍❤️♿️

27:23 answering how the nuda rides. I must say its very boring. The bike got too much hype from royaljordanian. To me it sounds almost the same as a normal bmw boxer engine, the power output is to linear for a big twin (and also not that much as I was expecting) and the chassis wasn’t very good for fun and sporty cornering. It doesn’t want to fall into corners and at the same time doesn’t give you much confidence. A 790 or mt09 for example are much better and way more fun in my opinion. But the nuda looks way cooler of course :D

In your next podcast/Q&A (whatever this should be called) you should do it in the same format as your ride videos: You should start with the description text popping up, and explain "I'm taking it pretty easy in the beginning" then later on a text pops up: "I'm now going to go harder..."! Oh, and the camera should still be on your body while you sit at a desk / on the sofa...maybe have a mirror in front of you so the view is actually with your face visible pretty much like now! 🤣👍🐑

Tinder, I had 10 days in my life in which this app worked and that was enough. And well, I had a good childhood from that POV that I didn't have to worry about my financial safety etc. But vibes-wise it was a disaster since my parents were fighting for many, many years. Home was not a place of security and peace for me because I was always in a restless mood in order to immediately shut down should my parents fight again. Man muss doch alles seinem Nachfolger hinterlassen!
