Another note is for nocturnists sometimes they make more but also in some areas they work 7 on 14 off

Thank you for your comments. That is a great point that there can be variability for days on vs days off, especially for nocturnists.

What’s the difference between hospital medicine And internal medicine
@DaVinciAcademyMed2 жыл бұрын
Most hospitalist medicine doctors did residency and board certification in internal medicine. Some hospitalists are family medicine trained. Hospitalist medicine is inpatient general medicine vs. primary care which is outpatient based. The broad scope of internal medicine includes both inpatient and outpatient general medicine as well as other subspecialties, such as cardiology, GI, and pulmonology.

You’re not “working every other week”. You work the equivalent of two weeks in one work week. It still works out to a bit more than 40 hours per week, except you jam 84 hours of work into one week.

That is an interesting point. Although hospitalists are off every other week, they work very hard during the work they are on and are responsible for their patients during that entire week.

Maybe for you. The physician in the video clearly laid out his schedule, which summated to 72 hours every other week. This averages to 36 hours per week. So, for his case, he is working less than a 40-hour week, on average.

Yes the salary range mentioned is before taxes. However, keep in mind as he discusses, the practice or hospital you work for will usually cover your malpractice insurance, health insurance, and other benefits.
