A portable capstan winch would be a good fit for you if you keep up this way of getting firewood. Skid the logs to the truck.

Was driving through town when I ran across a pecan tree lying in a residential yard. I stopped and inquired about the wood. Was told I could have all I wanted. I didn’t have my trailer, so we loaded into the back of my 2010 Toyota Tacoma. A log roll took a bad bounce and went through the back window. I could have bought many a cord of wood for what that truck window is gonna cost me.

Hi Scheib, looks like another successful oak run. Your pickup you mentioned on Brads channel on Thursday that the tranny is out. I am looking at buying a truck that why I am asking. Is your truck a 3/4 ton ? Does it have the Allison transmission?

It is a 2500 not a diesel so no Allison it has the 6L90E they are known for torque converter failure the Allison’s are almost bulletproof I don’t tow much couldn’t justify a diesel. I’ll be getting a new transmission that has a 7 year 1 million mile warranty.
