That 500I does a nice job nothing like free wood.A couple of years ago in Michigan I was doing some road side logging & a cop stoped and asked if I had a permit?I said I didn't know you needed one .He was cool about it said I could get one at the township for free.We talked awhile he said he was retiring in a few months so I never got a permit have done more road side work since then love free wood.That old truck is still ticking.

Sheib, I am watching you on this video and the one that you posted on Dec. 29th. and I don't know how the heck you haven't wrecked your back lifting those big rounds. Take it from me, a 60 year old firewood cutter, splitter, and stacker, I have had two back surgeries in the last 3 years and still having problems. Get yourself a tractor with a bucket or grapple and let the machinery do the heavy lifting and save your back. Love the videos and have a cold Miller Lite on me. From your firewood brother in Virginia. Ye Haw!!!!
@OutsidewithScheib2 жыл бұрын
I will get a tractor later but for now I’ll just be the tractor with grapple.

She sure cut through that wood like a boss. Great job Schieb, here in Ireland you wouldn't have a hope of doing that, the landowners would be on top of you in ten seconds! We wouldn't have much oak mostly sycamore or Ash.

@Outside with Scheib, Many you are SO lucky Here in Great Britain, we’d have the police accusing us of stealing, then the highways local agencies would say we’re stealing; then the landowner whose treat it was would be jumping on our back You guys are so lucky over there Jonathan

Hi Scheib!!😀😀 That's a really nice pile of free rounds!! Still can't believe Joe didn't take the deal you were willing to make him on your one ton. If you weren't quite so far away from me. I would have loved to took you up on it. Especially if I really needed a truck. But I have 4 trucks now and my wife would probably kick my butt if I came home with another one. LOL!! 😀😀 Take care buddy!!😀😀👍👍 Logger Al

Hello from north Iowa. Love to find perfect sized oak logs laying right next to the road. Sucks about the finger but as long as it still works you're good. If some of the rounds are too heavy I'd take a wedge and maul with as easy as that oak splits. Take care.
@charleysosa1918 Жыл бұрын
I have been watching your splitting videos, you should flatten out the grizzlies out straighter so the trash can be separated better,, keep on , you have great content,,

Man the roadside logging is a full time operation in your neck of the woods🤣 Who in the heck is leaving all those beautiful straight logs by the road? Blowdowns? Wow that would be gone in a minute around here! Awesome score👍🏻👍🏻🍺🍺

Been pecking at about 100+ trees the electric company had knocked down by a tree service company. Pretty sure I saw a full black walnut tree knocked over too 😍 and hundreds of oaks

Roadside finds are the best. I get wood from people's homes too, but then you have to deal with them. Most are good people, but there are some that make you wonder why you bother. The road doesn't give you any trouble and that's what makes it great. Be careful with that beer finger, that could be a major issue.

I like to stack the rounds, lot of less snow to deal with or frozen to the ground. I jammed a finger about a month ago and had to take off my wedding ring because it the knuckle swelled up and still is swelled up. Nice load of wood and the price is right

Scheib's Roadside Logging to Roadside Stand! Another nice score there Don! I still think you should keep that Dually! If i didnt by dads 05 Duramax regular cab, that would be on my radar to buy. New shirt will be Roadside Logging with Outside with Scheib, a picture of you loading those rounds. You did a great job getting those in the truck.

Still running it through my head to keep it or not I am leaning toward keeping it.
@craigwilson95602 жыл бұрын
I would! Have it as a back up. Just for the reason that just happened to me. My daily pulley system bearings are going out. Cant get it fixed for 2 weeks. Using my back up, so i dont have to rent a vehicle or drive my 1 ton dump bed. That gets 7 MPG's

Thinking about a new 880 but after watching the king of roadside logging with the 500i that just might be a better option 👍
@OutsidewithScheib2 жыл бұрын
Good choice!
@tech-gl8po2 жыл бұрын
There's not one reason in the firewood business to even remotely have an 880. It's like having a semi when your just a small family farm and a f250 or 350 and goodneck would of worked way better, way easier to handle and all that but you just had to get a semi to say u got the biggest thing, unless your running a 4ft bar and cutting redwoods 12ft through u don't even remotely need an 880 🤣 get a 4 or 500 and you'll be more than pleased

Hey Sheib, I always pulled the logs closer to the road with my truck. It was much easier loading. Especially up hill.
@OutsidewithScheib2 жыл бұрын
I thought about it but the root ball had this off the ground so I took advantage of that no venting over to cut just a little rolling op hill. It’s a good work out you know we all need that sometimes.
