There's a nut on the bottom on the drum. It's used to adjust the alignment. Turn it either clockwise or counterclockwise while the mixer is running until the grinding noise quietens or disappears. Also tighten the nuts around the centre where the noise is more audible.

A first class and very helpful review, just finished assembling my new mixer, the price has increased (August 2024) to £249, although I still thought this was very good value, I used to have a Belle minimix which now costs nearly £500, Assembly was fairly straightforward, but took me around three hours, Doing it again, I could probably do this in an hour. Personally I like the short power lead because when you are moving the mixer around you haven't got a long lead trailing in the way, although I appreciate you could wrap it round the motor housing. On mine, they must have modified it, because the way the motor attached to the mixer was different, it slotted down on to it, and was held by three long bolts, My machine was quiet with no grinding noises, certainly no more than you would expect. I haven't used it yet, to be fair, but so far I would 100% recommend this machine, I bought it through EBay. Delivery was 48hrs.

We bought something similar for my father in laws 70 birthday. His never went outside his garage now saw a drop of water. He used it to mix grit and soil to make potting compost for his principle interest, growing alpine plants. All i can say is it did last nearly ten years of pretty frequent use. I thought it bizarre, but one thing he did when creating a new lawn was to mix up very dry sharp sand with the grass seed in the mixer and we simple spread that in place. It did make a very nice lawn!

I always put plenty of grease around the gears on my mixer before using, it does help quieten it down and also stops rusting.

I have to say I have almost identical mixer but different brand that I bought used off eBay. An absolute life and back saver when doing a job at home. Easy to sell once you have finished the project. I would say bit of pest to transport if you want to use at your mate's and that rattle every revolution is awful. If you ever work that out do share!

Purchased the Mix65 with the same gnarling noise between cog and drum track. The supplier NMA Agencies replaced it but the same fault reappeared. Take the drive gear safety shield off and feel 3-mm shaft play then hand rotate the drum and watch the cog drift towards the inner or outer track edge and excruciating noise. If the shaft moves towards the drum remove the shaft circlip and place a 25-mm O.D.1-mm thick washer over the 12-mm shaft and replace the circlip. It is a drift limit. The all4dh8rz post is inspirational. The adjustment is not in the manual.

Most of these badged items are made in China, bit of lucky dip - sometimes you get a really good one, other times even a skip throws it out. It sounded good and cement mixery, even with the rumble - I've used noisier. Great review and thanks for sharing.

would it ever be an issue with this, or any mixer that you pour your cement in to the wheel barrow and go muck around with it, and while your doing that the left over that coats the inside of the mixer has kinda hardened and is a total bugger to hose off?! Looks like a good little unit for DIY'ing.

Many years since I used one, but I remember cleaning a mixer out quite easily at the end of the day with just a rubber-gloved hand and a little water. If the remnant has been left long enough to go hard, you can wear it down by running the mixer with some gravel in the drum.

Having watched this video I felt your pain 😢 when you was installing the paddles into the drum, as I too have the exact same mixer but I bought mine from JTF and the ONLY difference in them is mine is orange. I've been using it on most weekends now over the summer doing work in my garden but then on Saturday whilst about to unload a mix the drum stopped working but the motor was still going strong. I'm hoping i can find out what went wrong with it and fix the issue. My only other comment is that i bought it brand new and paid £89 for it, yes it was on offer but the normal price was £109 . Sorry but cheaper than aldi.

Having worked in a trade store one of the most common faults on electric mixers were the power cables being damaged in various ways , infact. Belle wouldn't exchange them without examining them first because of this reason. So this maybe why this manufacturer has chosen to fit a short cable?
