Am I the only man who still thinks an excellent 5 blade cart like Schick Hydro 5 and Gillette Proglide gives an excellent shave ? It's convenient, less hassle. No bowl, no brush, no pre shave oil, don't even need any post shave balm but still nice to use to moisturize.

Hello Tony, can u do a safety razor shave but not with shaving cream or soap, but with shaving foam? My late grandfather use to shave like this when he was still around and according to him it was a normal practise back in the 50's and 60's before the cartridge razor came into the scene in the 70's. I've tried it for quite a while and I can't say how effective this routine is; it's quick and very practical! Unlike before I only shave after 3 days of beard growth in order to save the cost for the shaving cream/soap, now I've become a daily shaver because I've no worries on the cost of the blades AND the cost of the shaving foam! Plus this is how my late grandfather able to keep his face fresh and clean-shaven everyday! May he rest in peace 😊

Great shave Tony! The tunes were alright. As a wet shaver, I can't really go back to cartridge razors. A They're just too expensive, I don't want to pay $20-$30 dollars at the store for 4 cartriges when I can get 100 DE blades for $10- that's one dime per blade, 10 cents. Can't really beat that, especially when you're paying $4-$5 for each of those cartridges if not more. B Cartridge razors have too many blades and can cut the hair too short which is the cause for ingrown hairs and is very uncomfortable. Also, all that steel rubbing against your face can lead to nicks cuts and irritation. With DE, there's only 1 blade in the razor and while you can still get nicks and cuts and irritation, its less likely with solid technique and 1 blade unless you chase the BBS and overshave. I hated shaving when I used cartridge razors, it was always uncomfortable like I was shaving with a steak knife. Since I started using safety razors, my shaves have really smoothed out and I have been getting very nice comfortable shaves with safety razors as long as I resist the temptation to overshave lol. Plus, using a good soap and a brush is a fun and enjoyable part of the process. Great video Tony, wishing you and yours the best!!
