I love the hydro 5, Lasts forever when compared to the 3 blades. And i like the precision trimmer. What i noticed that the 5 blade will outlast the 3. Also 5 blade never nicks.

Great video, Tony! I like the Hydro 3 a lot, more than the Mach 3. I especially like the Hydro 3 because it a comfortable razor with no bells and whistles. I always used carts, so I have never done a second pass, only minor touch ups. Glad your experiences with Schick validate mine. All the best.

For sh*ts and giggles is always a good choice! I’ve really been enjoying the Hydro Skin line and that’s coming from a guy who really dislikes cart razors and mainly shaves with single edge razors almost every other day. I moved away from carts years ago due too the tugging, irritation, and ingrown hairs they cause. These ones and the stubble buster actually don’t for my face.

@@bpgomez1 It all depends on how thick your facial hair is and how you care for the razor after the shave. Blades dull faster if you just rinse it and put it away. One cart will last me about ten or so shaves (two to the pass shave). No it won’t get you as close as a safety razor which I use more than cartridge razors.

What’s the best 5 blade cartridge razor on the market? I’ve tried them all and to me the Gillette Proglide/Proshield always just feels better than everything else. I don’t have a bias towards it, in fact I want to like something else. I’ve tried Harry’s/DSC/Schick all of the main ones, and they all shave well enough and have things I like and dislike about each, but as soon as I use a proglide/proshield it’s just like they’re playing 2 different games. I don’t believe in razors causing bumps, I believe it’s the shavers responsibility, if you’re using a modern razor you shouldn’t have any trouble with irritation, I have very sensitive skin and I have never had an issue shaving because I’m meticulous and know what I’m doing.

Schick is finally getting it. I have NEVER been able to use Schick blades but got a Hydro 5 free and gave it a shot. Beautifully designed..Each blade has a skin guard and not only does the cartridge pivot, but the razor head pivots also which really makes it hard to apply pressure so it forces the blades to do the work. Lock the razor head to use the precision trimmer. Unlock the head for general shaving of face/head…Can’t believe not only am I able to use a Schick cartridge, but I can go against the grain with this thing. This was an ABSOLUTE no-no with past razors by Schick.

@@averageguytested thanks. I won't try it since I didn't like the new Hydro 5 Sense. The older version was tons better in durability and sharpness. For right now I m happy with Harry's. Also, I bought the Bulldog razor based on your review. I tried the bulldog's on one side and the other with Harry's. No difference was noticed. Both are excellent, except that the Bulldog's trimmer was much better than that of the Harry's. Thanks again

As far as the quality of the shave, really haven't seen much difference as the blade quality is about the same and they are the same razor. I do like that the 5 features the flip up on the top which makes it easier to shave around long hair as I keep a beard. Both the 3 and 5 contain the lube strip which certainly improves the shave

Hey man cool video 👍👍 don't you think this Schick hydro 3 blades seems like the perfect contender for the mach 3?? Really nice features with no gimmicks at all and very comparable pricetags.. I believe Schick is positioning this as a competitor to the mach 3, 10$ for the handle + 4 cartridge, also 10$ for 5 cartridges pack.. better prices than mach 3... Sounds like a deal to me. Would be nice to see a video comparison of those two razors 👍👍
