The first time i heard this piece of music i was driving and it started playing on the radio. I had not seen the film not sure i had even heard of it at the time. The day was warm and sunny and as it played i found myself crying and had to pull over. The most haunting piece of music i think i have heard, even today years later and having seen the film and listen to it a hundred times it still make me cry with both the joy of the music and the terrible events it represents

For me, the defining rendition of Schindlers List Chloe has such a unique understanding of this piece. Fabulous bowing, phrasing, sparing use of vibrato plus semi staccato type phrase end notes. Chloe does not wallow in sentimentality with buckets of rubato thrown in rather she let’s the natural dynamics of the piece flow unhindered. Never a dry eye for me. Wonderful

To all the beginner violinists out there,Chloe's bowing is just about perfect in legato using the entire bow to get a seamless sound between the notes(which I think is the key to this piece producing that yearning mournful sound;the notes seem to just flow into each other;of course perfect intonation helps!! Its hard, but practice is the key.You can do it!! Dan.
