Schindler Traction Elevator @ Sears, Westfield Southcenter, Tukwila, WA

This store, the last Sears in the Pacific Northwest, closed permanently today, December 15, 2024. I'm very glad I got the opportunity to visit this store earlier this year.

This lift was originally a Montgomery G&P installed in 1968, modernised in 1982 and 2011. This place was originally built as a Frederick and Nelson department store until the chain filed for bankruptcy and shut down entirely in 1992, with this location becoming Sears in 1994. 3rd floor closed in May 2021 and a lockout was added by Schindler in October 2023
