I have watched most of season 4 with my six year old. I didn't say anything to her about David & Patrick; I waited to see what she'd say, if anything. She said "Mama, they love each other, huh? When are they going to get married?" Kids get it. Bigotry is learned. Love is taught. Bravo to Schitt's Creek.

This show is addictive! I literally watch, not only seasons but, episodes on repeat! When Moira walks into a scene, I even replay that a couple of times before watching the full scene. This show is so well written, well acted and well directed that it truly feels like watching a slice of life.

I started watching because I love the chemistry between Eugene and Catherine, I figured the show would be cute but didn't have high expectations because I mistakenly assumed Dan was just riding on his dad's coat tails. I was wrong, really freaking wrong! Dan is every bit as talented as Eugene and the entire cast is phenomenal. I was hooked from the start. I love that you show David and Patricks relationship the same way you would show a straight one. Dan's reasoning makes perfect sense, and the show is so well executed that by not showing homophobic stereotypes we are able to focus on the characters. Its such a simple concept but it makes a huge shift that I hope more shows follow your lead. Well done!

I started watching for the same reason! I saw those two names attached to a series and dove right in, they are hilarious together in everything they've done. I was absolutely delighted to discover how freaking good the rest of the cast and the story lines have been.

I have to say that I almost gave up near the beginning of the show because it all seemed rather broad and incurious. And then I quickly realized how perfectly cast the show is and that the series would be a slow-burn in the best possible way.

@@oopurpledove & Michael Jenkins. I did give up. The characters were so superficial, and I could not get past Roland. But then I watched a series of KZbin clips of just Patrick and David, and decided to watch it from the middle of the third season, and quite enjoyed it-It was obvious they had grown as characters in the first 2.5 seasons, and after finishing the 6th went back to the first 2 1/2. It’s a little crazy, I know, but now I love the whole show (still not so crazy about Roland but he fits within the larger ecosystem of the show, I guess)

Catherine O'Hara, in all of her podcast and video interviews, really does seem like the best and most caring mother. I would love to be her child. She always talks about how much she wishes sh could spend more time with her grown children and I've never heard that sentiment so strongly shown and so often repeated like she does, from any other adults that I know who have grown kids.

@Sarah Powell Probably one of the reasons they decided to do their 'Up Close and Personal' Tour thing. Most of the time the people interviewing them are just Terrible, and that seems a good way to do their Own kind of longform thing like the BUILD series-type of panel interviews, only having Dan, someone who not only knows Everything about the show but is also actually an excellent and Competent interviewer, be the one in charge of the conversation :)

I didn't watch this show for a long time, but my children said that it was a good show and I should watch it. I have to say, that it is one of the best shows I have ever seen. I loved watching the evolution of all the characters and their relationships. I do agree that it is most parents dream that they can spend more time with their children. They grow way too fast. I am one of the lucky ones. Thank you to the cast of Shitt's Creek for an amazing show. I loved watching!!!

Hi there Canada/just a note that there is a mad following of the Creek in Australia/there is a hum of anxiety here as to when we can get back into our comfy place on the lounge with a nice bottle of something, a box of tissues, a large plate of munchies and the DATE of Series 5/ is Chrissy Special and Series 5 available to our Island home on Netflix/ this series to date has been a huge sigh of psychological relief for the embrace of difference across human relations/I've always felt that I walk a different path to others, my son likes my good weirdness and I like it in others/we all are same but different!

I watched on Netflix when it first came on bored out of my mind and it was Eugene and Catherine (How I loyally watched on SCTV) and after 2 episodes I was wondering where did all these other AMAZING actors from! This was fantastic! The name of the show is what first drew me to watch it. Once I saw the first episode I was totally hooked. I have been binge watching seasons 1-4 on Netflix, waiting for season 5 to come on . I have seen 5 but need to rewatch it multiple times before season 6 starts. The characters, writing, acting...everything about this show is fantastic.

This show is unique in our modern day. We are so lucky to get this ensemble. I love this show. The interview questions however- eesh- I know it’s not PBS but sone deeper thought about the characters and process - as opposed to “what inspired you to do a holiday show around the holidays?” The guests were polite but it’s painful to watch.

Can someone tell me if the 'special holiday episode" is the one filmed at the beginning of this year? eg Season 4 episode 13? Seen all of season four but not the last christmas episode (13). Or is this a new 'special holiday episode'? Just interested because I don't want to miss any.

The Holiday special isnot yet on Netflix. I'm unsure how they're going to handle that... Time between ep.12 and ep 13 broadcast dates are April to December. I eventually found it on POP, which I didn't realize that I had access to

I always knew when Alexis started a conversation or (more often) a reply with "Ummmmmmmmm..... HMMMMMMM!...... mmmmmmHMMMM...... etc..." (LOL) that she was trying desperately to ESCAPE/DISAPPEAR/DELAY... whatever undesired consequence she knew would result if she actually answered the question or made a statement. I saw this gambit as her poker's "tell". When Alexis is hemming and hawing, she's lying... or trying very hard to (or NOT to:). And as the show continued, you watch Alexis learn how to, sort of, confront the situation/person/event (reality), as opposed to ESCAPING whatever is happening/whereever she is/whatever she (or someone else) has done or said, which was her "rich-persona's" default go-to, get-me-outta-this-NOW skill for every awkward/embarrassing/ignorant moment she ever found herself in. I find it amusing that nobody's talking about this and perhaps it was not an intentional part of her character, but it definitely became a "tell" which I see it as a very clear part of her character's arc in the growth away from, and out of, the severely malignant, narcissistically-entitled, attachment-challenged, empathy-deprived, middle-class-phobic, lifestyles of the rich and INSANELY (in so many ways) famous SHELL of the person that WAS Alexis Rose, and into a truly empathic, genuinely caring, responsively assertive (but not aggressive), capable and (actually) intelligent, young woman whose inner and outer selves morph into (relative) alignment with themselves and with reality. Bottom line: LOVE LOVE LOVE watching Alexis try to escape/backpeddle/disappear out of "messy" situations with those characteristically defining, absolutely delightful and laugh-out-loud-funny (non-?) responses that somehow emerge out of a seeming endless font of "Ummmmms" and "HMMMMMMs!" and every impossible combination of those and other non-syllabic "words" that strikingly and hysterically have chiseled aspects of the Alexis Rose we all have come to know and love:) IMHO:) WE NEED SEASON 7 (& 8, 9, 10, 11, etc....) YES.,.. WE DO! Please:)
