Looking at peoples top guitar rateings on youtube Richie is definitly under rated? do'nt understand that. Not even mentioned on most . How can this be?His playing excites me Its so wild and played with sole and passion.Love Deep Purple and for me you are number one Richie Blackmore .

Not necessarily. If you listen to him in the interviews and stuff, he says that he always liked classical more, even back then. Plus he incorporates some rock-like stuff in the new music...it's just completely different from the old stuff.

3 year old comment but I've been posting about this on Ritchie Blackmore videos all night. I learnt so much as a guitarist trying to emulate this guy that you wouldn't believe... Some of my musician friends rave about Steve Morse and don't get me wrong he's a shit hot guitarist but its a lot easier wen you're playing somone else's tunes!

Blackmore certainly was exciting to watch and listen to live, but I think his best solos were recorded in the studio and put in Purple's and Rainbow's songs. Just listen to practicaly any of his recorded work. His phrasing, virtouosity, speed and technique, when taken together (some are faster, some shred better) have never been beat. Combine this with his riff-making ability and he blows everybody away. Who has a better rock catalog of songs? WHO? nobody
