This is a pet pieve of mine & I'm on a Personal Crusade to right a wrong. It's Wheels not rims! Different parts come together to make a wheel, the center hub, radiating spokes, slots, wires or a disc. The section where the tire mounts is the rim. Think of a steering wheel. It has the same parts, a Hub that mounts it to the Column, radiating Spokes that connects it to the Rim. But no one would ever call a Steering Wheel a Steering Rim. A glass or cup that you drink from, you put your lips on the rim but no one ever says pass me a rim of coffee, though you may say, fill it to the rim. My work here is done! Thank you & goodnight.
