You have done an awesome job on how to switch from an auto to a straight! I have referred to your videos several times. I was able to purchase a complete 99 dodge 3500 as the donor truck. The process took a little over a week to complete. I am very happy with the nv4500 swap. I had very few issues to deal with. Thank you for being a part of the process.

I got a jasper reman transfer case in mine it would pop out of low ranger open the case up everything look good but notice the cup washer was missing on the shift folk so I put 2 flat washers on it on top of the spring works good now.

I've been coming back to your videos time and time again over the last year as I slowly complete my 47re to nv5600 swap, they have been so helpful so thank you very much! But I have a question about a wiring issue I've encountered that I can't find much information on. At 23:18 I briefly caught a glimpse of that two-pin grey plug which I believe is the 47re output shaft speed sensor plug. My NV nor my tcase has any kind of speed sensor plug on it. What did you do with yours? Did your trans have a speed sensor to plug into?

You don’t have to. If you want it to be a hack job and have the auto shifter on the column and are fine with that there is no reason to swap it.

Correct. If just grounded it will bypass all safety features. Once clutch is let out the circuit is open and that allows cruise to work.

@@Schneids15 so interestingly. I had to ground the wire to make my clutch safety switch work. @Schneids153 жыл бұрын
So you are going to swap to a manual? Yep you can run the Auto ECM and PCM. I ran mine for 2 years with it and it worked fine. The only thing you will find is the Manual computers have anti stall control which is super nice to run with. Idle is 50rpm lower. Otherwise run it. I never had any issues. Let me know if you have any other questions
@oldcroneysgarage97393 жыл бұрын
@@Schneids15 we are thinking of swapping it to a manual. He rebuild the transmission 7 months ago and it's been a problem ever since. Been searching for the parts to convert it over to a manual.
@Schneids153 жыл бұрын
Good luck. If you can find a rotted out truck is best. I was the same. The dodge auto transmission was probably my worst investment of my whole life. I had mine redone and still hated it. I sold it and bought the swap. If the owner is not picky at all, all you really need is to find a transmission for a dodge. Clutch pedal and hydraulics, clutch and flywheel. Then a different input shaft for the transfer case and you would have a running truck. You can remove the auto shift lever and put the plastics back on the column. Some stuff won’t be ideal but it will be a running driving truck.
