I was a Navy Corpsman on a Guided Missile Destroyer, and, one of the joys of my life was watching the Dolphins, and, Porpoises swimming alongside of us, and, listening to the Whales (singing) at night, nightime movies against the 5" gun turrets at Sea, I loved it, still miss it 50 years later, don't have many Dolphins in Kentucky...

That sounds like a really fun time of your life... No Dolphins (or Whales for that matter) in KY but not so far away if you head down the rivers to the gulf!

Looking forward to how you guys will handle the Great Lakes! The waves up here hit a bit different and it’s rather rare to find a lot of flat days. we don't have AIS transmitting ability but we do have receiver for it on our radio. Olly sure does like those dolphins.

@@SchoandJo , Glad you love Tassie, I've travelled a bit in my life and Tassie is still the most beautiful in my eye's, I would love to cruise around Tassie, people do, but you require a serious boat to do it and a very experienced Skipper, very dangerous seas down here, the circumnavigation of Tassie is called the Little Lap, a complete circumnavigation of all of Australia is called the big Lap and all in open water. Hi: Fuel issues. Have/can you get a peek into the fuel tank? Have you looked into scrubbing the fuel with a filter set up? There may be some crap in the tank. There are several YT vids showing just how to do that. You will learn a lot about your fuel system..the heart of any diesel engine.
@SchoandJo2 жыл бұрын
Will have to look into that! We've never looked into our fuel tanks but I think you are probably right, that some issues lie there. Our tanks are original while most of the other parts of the fuel lines are new thanks to the previous owner. Thanks for the info, learning more about our fuel system would be great!

How loud is the engine noise when you are inside at the helm? It sounds loud, but you don’t seem to have to raise your voices at all to communicate.

It’s not too bad, the mic picks up a lot though. We don’t have to raise our voices at all but it would be nice to be a bit quieter- for reference our sailing friends said it’s quieter than when theyre motoring. We don’t have much other experience though for comparison!
