When I first caught a glimpse of the Sheikhs I thought the one on the right was Sh Hamza Yusuf. What a striking likeness the South African Sh Muhammad Carr has to the US sheikh. May the Muslim communities in all parts of the world have full freedom to follow the Qur'an and Sunnah, be appreciated and flourish.

Hamza Yousuf a shaykh? Maybe you also considers the same about Yasir qadhi,... and many more Americans as shaykhs and the so called scholars.. please be careful,, they have been on a trajectory of "watering down" the islam, and not representing the real islam in America and to the outside,,they are in America and most likely with the collaboration with the us agencies.. not everyone is an ajent obviously..

@@shakirsohail1681 we can let the ikhtilaf among the scholars be a rahma (mercy) like the South African Muslims have managed to do, or we can let the ikhtilaf divide us and make it easier for others to rule over us. Loss through division happened in Spain even after 800 years of rule (which incidentally turned Spain into a jewel of Europe. Something it never was before and never became again) Losing through division is happening to us again in the middle East. We must reject those who try to divide us. They are agents of Islamophobia.

بارك الله فيكم و أحسن الله جميعا.I really love and enjoy the podcast and the discussion , however as an indigenous African Muslim from the South African township I feel we also have for Millenia contributed to the wide Muslim narrative but our voices are barely aired or heard . Studies needs to be conducted and histories of all communities integrated in the narrative ,otherwise a large history will be lost and on the flipside the narrative can never be complete if it doesn't feature the black historic and emerging communities within Islam.I hope we can look into this not with biases but for the intended purpose which is to not leave out anyone in the Islamic narrative of this country.I equally understand that the narrative looks at the dominant and most historic and established communities but the black historic and emerging community must never be left out. May Allah accept our efforts.

Ameen. I agree that we should learn more about the Muslim brothers and sisters we have. Perhaps we should encourage mosque visits between the different areas to have more interaction.

BarakAllah feekum. It should be noted that apartheid limited the dawah and spread of Islam in South Africa by placing restrictions on movement and uprooting muslim communities who had to find and reestablish themselves with barely any resources.
